About this deal

I was wondering if I could use the race female setup like you used with the headphones as an auxiliary input for my stereo system.

We recommend it for folks who might have a hard time getting used to the more hands-on aspects of manual turntables -- with the AT-LP60, you just press a button and enjoy the tunes. You’re getting good quality components (so everything will sound and work well), and it has a phono input which is designed to work with turntables such as the AT-LP60. Fully automatic operation as standard, with a belt driven aluminium platter, inbuilt phono preamp and even a USB output, on this model at least.

I’m trying not to break my bank with this so anything on the more affordable side would be appreciated. If there’s something in particular that you want to address, let me know so I can include it in the tutorial. My powered speaker has a headphone male jack that I am using to connect directly to my Android Pad now. If you pair up your Audio Technica AT-LP60-USB with a good set of speakers and a good receiver you will be very pleased with the results. Then once you hit the “start” button on the front of the turntable you’ll start hearing your music playing.

Overall, the sound is very pleasing to listen to, not harsh and this will give you a good listening experience as long as you have this paired with a decent set of powered speakers or a decent stereo system. Unfortunately my LP60-USB had only 33 and 45 play speeds, and no option to mount a 78-compatible stylus. Suffice it to say that there are a lot of them out there, and probably a good few still spinning records. You can’t go wrong with either one and it just comes down to how much you have to spend as well as whether you want the speakers to take up the least amount of space possible.I’m really terrible at this tech stuff and could use a pro’s help 🙂 …In all honesty I don’t even really know what the difference between a receiver and a transmitter is! We also see a few more parts of the automatic mechanism as well as the arm’s lateral pivot bearing which is primitive but does the job. The well-written, easy-to-understand owner's manual makes the setup process painless -- even neophytes can have the AT-LP60 up and running in a few minutes.

An avid vinyl collector and coffee addict, I can often be found at a workbench tinkering with a faulty electronic device, tweaking a turntable to extract the last bit of detail from those tiny grooves in the plastic stuff, or relaxing in front of the hi-fi with a good album. You can wirelessly play your vinyl records by plugging your turntable to a wireless transmitter as shown on the diagram. I listen to classical music albums with long note passages where speed variations are more noticeable, but they sounded fine. With its built-in switchable phono preamp, the AT-LP60 may be connected directly to your computer, home stereo or even to other components that have no dedicated turntable input. It does not have a power button, so you have to keep it plugged in, but the unit operates only when the start button is pressed or when the arm is moved towards the record.
