About this deal

Many people don’t want to wake up cold in the middle of the night, if that is you then use the Off Timer on the fan and the fan will turn off after say three hours to ensure you don’t wake up feeling too cold. This is not intended to be a full statement of your rights under the Consumer Contracts Regulations. Full details of your rights are available from your Local Authority’s Trading Standards Office. How To Return A Product This is for the environmentally aware. This fan uses DC technology at just 3.5W and has an extra energy-saving eco mode — both minimise its impact on the environment while helping keep electricity bills as low as possible.” Living 360

Please note some larger products are delivered to kerb-side (the street outside your home), it is at the drivers discretion if they can deliver the item to another location on the property. The MeacoFan 650 has a DC motor, and seems to be remarkably efficient. We measured power consumption of just 1 watt at its slowest setting, rising to only 8 watts at the maximum – roughly the range between recharging a phone and turning on a low-energy lightbulb. That’s an impressive performance, particularly at range, for such a small fan, although as this is a desktop model, it’s unlikely that you’ll be using it at such distance. Like the 1056 version the 650 is a perfect fan for a bedroom to help you sleep at night with noise level starting from just 20dB. You can have absolute confidence that this is a quiet fan because it has been awarded the prestigious Quiet Mark award in the United Kingdom for low noise products. If you wish to return your item to Robert Dyas, you can do so by the following method: 1. They use DC technology to power the fans because they believe it gives you the best performance and helps your fan to last longer.

There’s so much to recommend this fan that we’ll start with our criticisms: it’s a shame there’s no powered vertical oscillation, and that the fan’s control panel doesn’t cover all the features contained in its remote. Ideally, we’d also prefer a wider oscillation than the 70 degrees available, but this is less of an issue than it would be with a weaker fan. Awarded the Quiet Mark award for low noise products, the sound of the 650 operating is just 20 dB, which equates to a whisper, and customers always remark on just how good it is to have finally found a fan that’s as quiet as it claims to be. Obviously, the main reason for buying a fan is because you want it to keep you cool. So next up was measuring the MeacoFan 1056 Air Circulator's cooling powers, and from the minute I turned this fan on – even on its lowest setting of 1 – its cooling effect is instantly noticeable. The digital display is also a nice touch, informing you of the temperature in your space so you can decide whether you need to turn the fan on or just open a window. As you can see from the image below, the space in which we tested the MeacoFan 650 definitely got warm enough to warrant a little help! MeacoFan 650 Air Circulator: Our VerdictAs well as its 12-speed settings, and left-right, up-down, and multi-directional oscillation, there’s also a timer function that allows you either to set when the fan turns on, or when it turns off. You can set this in one-hour intervals, for anywhere between 1 and 12 hours. This is especially useful if you want to have the fan running whilst you fall asleep on a hot night, but don't want it using energy all night long whilst you're fast asleep. The circular remote has a few controls that are missing from the fan body. There’s a useful Eco mode, which automatically increases fan speed with the room temperature. Additionally, you can turn off the fan’s display and mute its control beep. Taken together with the quiet performance, this helps make the MeacoFan 650 a great model for unobtrusive cooling overnight. Plug it in and you’ll hear a beep before the display shows the current room temperature. Turn on the fan with the remote or via its touch-sensitive controls and it defaults to the slowest of the 12 speeds on offer, but there’s immediately a strong air current, easily felt even on the other side of a room. Increase the speed to the maximum and there’s a powerful, consistent breeze. Once on, you can press the Speed button and increase the fan speed through 12 power settings – more than enough to find the exact setting for your preferences. Turn the fan off and it will remember your preferred power setting when you turn the fan on again.

Both models come with 12 fan speeds – from an ultra gentle breeze to a full-blown gale – and both feature a room thermometer, a timer, a night light and a mode called Eco that automatically adjusts the speed of the fan according to the room’s temperature. We use DC technology to power our fans because we believe it gives you the best performance and helps your fan to last longer. We’ve used this technology across a number of our products because it delivers:The MeacoFan 650 has a DC motor and seems to be remarkably efficient. We measured power consumption of just 1 watt at its slowest setting, rising to only 8 watts at the maximum – roughly the range between recharging a phone and turning on a low-energy lightbulb. Fan performance: Even on its lowest setting, this fan moves a lot of air – you can feel the breeze even at some distance. On maximum, it’s deeply impressive.

They've also added functionality that makes using your fan as easy as possible. This includes a carry handle so it's easy to move around and remote control to operate the fan from across the room, or from bed if the fan is in your bedroom. There's a timer switch so that you can ask the fan to turn itself off during the night, making sure you don't wake up cold, and there's a clever ECO mode, which sets the fan to regulate itself depending on the room temperature. We know that one of the most annoying things for customers is a noisy fan. Whilst it might cool some of the room, it keeps you awake and disturbs your night – the last thing you need. So the MeacoFan range, including the 650, has been designed with peace and quiet in mind. And that operational silence is one of the reasons that we have won awards and plaudits for our designs. However, ideally, the power source needs to be capable of supplying at least 2.0A of current. When we tried the fan with a phone’s 1.0A adapter it reset itself, and the USB port in a 2018 VW Tiguan temporarily shut down when we tried to take the fan beyond speed 11. Why buy the MeacoFan 650 Air Circulator? The Pedestal version’s Sleep mode is definitely the best option for bedside use. In this mode you set your preferred fan speed and, as the night wears on, the air speed decreases by one level every 30 minutes until the whole thing switches off completely. The MeacoFan is far less fiddly to control than the great, but overcomplicated, Duux Whisper Flex Ultimate Fan, and although the touchscreen or remote controls are a little more involved than the very basic manual controls on the budget Honeywell Turbo Force Power Fan or the simple Russell Hobbs 12" Scandi Desk Fan, they're more intuitive, more ergonomic, and better placed for ease of use than either of these options. All in all, a score of 5 out of 5 for ease of use from me. Cooling powers

Again, this is much clearer if you opt to use the remote control as here the icons are printed and so much easier to read. However, if you want even more options and need a fan for bedside use, then go for the tall Pedestal model which comes with two extra user modes: Natural and Sleep. In Natural mode, the fan will emulate a natural breeze and strengthen and weaken the air flow randomly. This works well in a living room situation but it’s not so great at bedtime, mostly because both the strength of the breeze and the sound of the fan blade increasing and decreasing in speed tends to keep you awake.
