About this deal

This is the first book since Diary of a Wimpy Kid: Cabin Fever where the month in the beginning is the same as the month at the end of the previous book. Greg saying that sometimes in later seasons of TV shows, a new main character is introduced to bump up the ratings is easily a reference to shows like Scooby-Doo, Fairly Oddparents and the Brady Bunch.

Diary of a Wimpy Kid: Double Down is the eleventh book in the Diary of a Wimpy Kid series by Jeff Kinney. Frank gets mad at Greg for making the mess, and Susan later gets mad, because Greg and Rowley filmed right over a tape of Manny's first steps. There are many books in the series that have made me sputter and given people around me a scare because of my sudden outburst of laughter. I would highly recommend this book, and the whole wimpy kid series to anybody, who wants an easy and quick, but still really good read.Days later, while Greg is forced by Frank to sort and clean the cabinet that fell, Rowley gains fame from the local news after the movie-making incident, to Greg's annoyance and the rejection of any statements that he had made at the beginning of the book regarding fame. It has a poorly written plot, you could even say there was no plot and there really wasn't the kind of "Jeff Kinney" word choice you'd see from a "Jeff Kinney" book. A Booklist review states, "though Greg’s clever ideas backfire more often than not, this just fuels the fun. At the beginning of the book, protagonist Greg Heffley can be seen talking about how he thinks his life is a reality TV show, and how he thinks Rodrick, Manny, and all the other people in his life are just actors and robots, similar to the plot of The Truman Show.

At home, Greg finds an off-limits bag of chocolate chips and realizes that he will get in trouble after eating them.

I really like the part in this book when the school does a Balloon Brigade, the students all get a helium filled balloon and the kid with the furthest traveling balloon gets a prize.

The complaints from moral guardians surrounding Underpants Bandits and Spinetinglers is a parody of the complaints surrounding Captain Underpants, by Dav Pilkey and Goosebumps by R. During a playdate at Maddox's house, Greg retrieves his balloon, and realizes that Maddox is not allowed to use electronics and spends his time playing with Legos. He and Rowley, while filming it with Susan and Frank's camera, Greg tries to get more worms from the laundry room to get more, but the pig is eating them. At school, Greg turns in his balloon and wins the candy corn, which is discovered and eaten by the family's pet pig.I thought the book was amazing there is a balloon contest where Gregory balloon fell down the balloon when someone found expected a cash reward but Never got it.
