About this deal

It's never right to introduce your main villain, the big bad, in the final third of your series, especially if we're supposed to be so terrified of him.

Finale follows both of the Dragna sisters, and I particularly loved being back in Scarlett's POV (though Tella is one of my all time favorite characters). She let her love out to touch his, the way two separate instruments might play together to create a more beautiful song. My one problem with the writing is that she likes to repeat things and its actually kind of annoying. With lives, empires, and hearts hanging in the balance, Tella must decide if she's going to trust Legend or a former enemy. I think it was because unlike the previous books, this one didn't focus on the mystery of Caraval and Legend. I highly recommend this series to you because Jacks and Julian are just so perfect if you want to read a series about two sisters finding love and happiness in a magical world filled with starry nights and the mystery of Caraval world and dangerous games that would leave you wanting more and more!

trigger + content warnings: blood depiction, getting blood for magic, loss of a loved one/loss of a parent, grief depiction, abusive parent, kidnapping, captivity, murder, possession, heart attacks, torture, gore, and spiders! I liked the ending, but not how it was executed, it seems like tradition that Stephanie Garber's endings always feel super rushed, we spent 400 pages trying to discover a way to defeat The Fallen Star, so that in the last 20 the way be discovered and Tella kills him in the simplest way possible. I guessed that Dante was legend a bit early on, I did see some character art just before I started book 2 and when I couldn't see much art with Dante in it but saw a lot of Legend, it wasn't difficult to put two and two together. Scarlett is still determined to meet her former fiancé, feeling she can't truly know if Julian is the one for her until she does. This was my least favorite in the trilogy just cause I miss them actually attending Caraval BUT this one was still SO good.

I still saw that magical shine of the world in glimpses throughout this book (like the midnight market!

this book made up for what the other books lacked (for the most part) from the mystery to the romance aspect! for this book, it was justified but it kinda felt annoying to be constantly reminded that legend didn’t love her. I’m offering her mine, and everything that comes with it, hoping she’ll take it and decides she wants to keep it. This book is written from both Tella and Scarlett's pov and the plot came together all in the end but there were still some loose ends in this which might be left purposefully for a future books I guess? Caraval had the uncertainty factor where neither the characters nor the readers knew what was real and what was fake.I couldn’t stand Tella in Caraval, but Legendary and Finale completely changed my feelings toward her, and I came to favor her over Scarlett. I suppose the benefit of this is that I didn't have to wait for the next book after the endings of the first two, rather I could (and did) marathon all 3 within about a week. I can't say too much about this, but Finale does hinge it's plot on one of the fates, and how this particular one ties Scarlett, Tella, and Paloma to the story. This book concludes the Caraval trilogy and is based around the magical beings we have already met, plus more besides.

Also the ending chapters felt a bit rushed to me and I would've loved a few more chapters on how the characters are doing after that killing ending! I really liked Jack's character and although there was a little bit of a triangle forming between Tella, Jacks, and Legend, I liked how it didn't develop too much into one, it was still clear throughout where Tella's feelings lay, something which I was happy with. The ending was amazing but not quite satisfying to me as there are so many things that were overlooked in this one like Legend's identity reveal and the bargain Tella made at the Vanished market. there werent really any moments the shocked or thrilled me, but i feel very content with how everything turned out. I liked the writing and it was as usual magical filled with vivid things and the beauty of their world.A thing that I didn't much like in Caraval absolutely loved here and in Legendary was Garber's writing.
