About this deal

anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; 7and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.

In Joshua 1:8, we are told to “keep this Book of the Law always on your lips; meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do everything written in it.”Paul has seen, firsthand, the Lord at work, particularly in the midst of trials and persecution. He gives the example of God working to advance the gospel through his own dire circumstances of being held in chains ( Philippians 1:12-13). Anxiety is at an all time high, but there’s a prescription for dealing with it. Max Lucado invites readers into a study of Philippians 4:6-7 where the Apostle Paul admonishes the followers of Christ, “Do not be anxious about anything…” I've dealt with copious amounts of social anxiety in the past, and still do from time to time, but thank you, Jesus (!!!) I've taken active steps outside of my comfort zone with the sole intent to eradicate the anxiety. I'd highly suggest taking an acting class, improv class, gym class, any sort of group activity that puts you in a room of strangers, and miles & leagues outside your comfort zone. (I've done all three of the previously suggested & paired them all with prayer, and my anxiety is at an all-time low! Like, it's still there, but I don't let it keep me from living my life anymore.) Do not be anxious or worried about anything, but in everything [every circumstance and situation] by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, continue to make your [specific] requests known to God.

Does the uncertainty and chaos of life keep you up at night? Is irrational anxiety your constant companion? Let God help you win the war on worry and receive the lasting peace of Christ. Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; Help me to trust in your perfect plan and to remember that you are always with me, no matter the circumstances. In moments of anxiety, may I find solace in your presence and strength in your promises. Amy Swanson resides in Connecticut where she has recently discovered a passion for Bible study and writing. By God's continued grace, she now enjoys helping others better understand their Bibles, while also being an advocate for biblical church integrity. As a mother of three and a wife of 13 years, she blogs less than she'd like to but shares Scriptural insights, encouraging truth, resources, and musingsmore regularly at Beloved Warrior. LISTEN: Being Complete in Jesus (Understanding Matthew 5:21-48) Be anxious for nothing, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.There is a reason the windshield is bigger than the rearview mirror. Your future matters more than your past.” This means that each and every anxiety-inducing circumstance is an opportunity for God to be glorified.
