About this deal

I keep telling you, gangster. I’m charming. By the time this is all over, you’ll be head over heels in love with me.” the hero - As you can tell I’m also not very enamoured with Declan. I didn’t particularly like him or think him fierce or hot or anything. The more Sloan kept teasing him about being old the more I started to believe it. Personality wise I mean, he didn’t really have a charismatic, draw you in flair (this is all very subjective, I know others find him irresistible) . And his murderous tendencies were all talk. I can’t picture the man as attractive, I just can’t. I talked so much s**t about the first book, but at least I was into Kage. Considerable money spent finding ways to fulfill your sexual needs (for example, buying pornography, visiting strip clubs, or hiring sex workers) [13] X Trustworthy Source PubMed Central Journal archive from the U.S. National Institutes of Health Go to source

The sooner this is over, the better. I’ve known her for all of two hours - half of that while she was unconscious - and I’m ready to shoot myself in the face.

Part 4: Concluding Remarks on Carnal urges by Jt Geissinger

Yes. My creative writing teacher in college described my aggrandizement of language as incredible." (Riley)

This is not because I love the writer, but it is because the rest of the book is so wonderful that I cannot deduct more than that. Therefore, with -1.5 for BDSM, 3.5 stars it is for me and I am rounding it up to 4.However, after getting my hands on it and reading the first two chapters, I got so hooked I spent the rest of the day reading. The narration was so good that at some point, I was engrossed in the book. Savage Hearts is the third book in the Queens & Monsters series. It's about Riley Keller (h), she is Sloane's little sister (the h from Carnal Urges), and Malek Antonov (H). Since the story continues right where Carnal Urges left off and has Declan and Kage's POV (Hs of previous books) too, I don't think this book works as a standalone. Christ, Riley, you have to tell me what you need, or I can’t give it to you. Despite what you think, I’m not a mind reader!” Fourth Wing put me in another slump and re-reading sloanedeclan’s diary helped me a little to get out of it again so it deserves bonus points for that. 🙏

Every assassin, mobster, bratva king is so useless in this series. When has an attempted assassination ever gone through? The answer is N E V E R. You could say, “I am wondering if I am having so many urges because we haven’t really been having sex lately. What do you think? Are you happy with our sex life?” This is one of those times I felt that the captor wanted to return their captive because of how tired he was of her 🤣. That’s right Sloane 💅🙃.I always liked Declan and his sense of humor in previous books and in this book I still liked him but his being so insistent on BDSM rubbed me the wrong way. Well, Sloane liked it but I didn’t… sorry. I cannot wait to read the next book, in the meantime I intend on reading something else by this author until it releases. The plot was all over the place. There were so many plot points in this book where I was reading the scene and there was this big question mark in my brain... What was this whole point of Sloane fainting and being in the hospital and getting fake pregnancy news. It was random and weird. Drugged and whipped away when Sloane wakes up and clashes eyes with the blue eyed handsome devil she gives him a tongue lashing he'll never forget in a hurry. One thing you don't do is write a book for a character and then drag them when they are the side character in the next book. Riley and Sloane don't have a great relationship at the beginning of the book. They haven't talked to each others for three years and Riley's perception of Sloane is pretty bad. I love Sloane and reading Riley's chapter it feels like Sloane is a shitty sister and that aint it. Even tho Riley has some valid points when it comes to her 'dislike' of Sloane's character, she comes across as extremely jealous and that didn't make me want to sympathize with her. Riley and Sloane's relationship does get better by the end of the book, but still that aspect irked me bc there are some scenes that make Sloane the bad guy.

the smut- I feel bad now for saying that the first book had very choreographed sex scenes that felt disingenuous because this book proved to me the real meaning of those words. The kink here was so .. meh. And we got it over and over and over again. I couldn’t get on board with their proclivities in the bedroom ( not cause it was too kinky or anything like that, although it definitely tried to be) it just felt very perfunctory. Not to mention, I shouldn’t cringe when the hero is doing some Dom/sub thing and tell her to call him sir and master and whatnot. But I did cringe. A lot. Too much. I’ll take dirty talking Kage over call me master and let me flog you Declan at any given time. My issues were such as Sloan being a shitty sister. Issues such as her trying to makeover her sister to look like her because anything else is apparently hoboish - to me that’s not another display of Sloans charming confidence but of her being a hypocrite who speaks about instilling confidence and a sense of self in young girls but treats her sister poorly and doesn’t remember messing around with her sisters boyfriend and dismisses it when she’s questioned about it, ”like it’s not big deal, men used to be disposable, I didn’t mean anything by it if I did that”. He slides his hand up to the middle my sternum, pressing it flat over my throbbing heart. “And this… Is this mine, too, baby?” So all in all, if it didn’t include BDSM, it would be more than 5 stars for me but I have to lower my grading because of all the unappealing sex scenes for me and I don’t want to do the book injustice so I am only deducting -1.5, whereas in fact I would deduct -2 or -3 points in an ordinary book.Every time they have sex, he asks her something and she answers by saying “Sir” or “Master”. And he says, “Good girl!” That’s so not my scene! Every time she said that, I wanted to puke. The Hero: Declan - he is second to the head of the Irish Mafia and tasked with kidnapping Sloane. He can’t figure her out. She is chatty and unafraid, not to mention the fact that she can defend herself and handle a gun though she has no history of violence or even taking a self defense class. So that deal you made with the devil for the power to kill with run-on sentences didn’t include immortality?” Book 1 is the one I liked least in the series because I didn’t like Kage or Natalie much. There is not enough good banter in this book.
