About this deal

Having adequate ventilation will maximise airflow inside the bivvy. This will help keep it cool during the warmer months and reduce condensation during the cooler months.

Have done two week long sessions in France with it on my own, and also done about 6 or 7 weekends in it either fishing or camping with the Mrs and Dog. There’s enough headroom to stand up straight inside the shelter and plenty of room for two bedchairs, a large table, and enough luggage and bait for a year’s worth of carping! The Trakker SLX is another bivvy that comes in a 2-man variant. This is a high-quality shelter that is perfect for the angler who wants a bivvy that’s big enough to accommodate two people without being a burden to transport. You can’t go wrong with Trakker. I have several friends who swear by Trakker Brollys and Bivvies and they fish in some pretty brutal conditions. I have asked them a few times to so a wrap for it to help with cooling in summer etc. and give a tiny bit of extra room at the front. They replied and said they were looking at it once but never seen anything and my guess is they will release something else instead. Perfect thanks for that and the capsule won’t be a problem because I didn’t bother with it, I’ll only be using it a few times a year when I go with my daughter like mentioned below mate, just wanted a decent sized 2 man so this sounds perfect, it actually turned up this morning so didn’t take long to get it at allConsider whether you want a 2-man bivvy that can double up as a large social space or day shelter. Features such as removable front panels and large peaks make 2-man bivvies more usable for socials and summertime fishing. I have the undercover brolly in green and a 1 man undercover bivvy in camo. Assuming the material is the same on the 2 man version (which it should be) I would suggest that there is very little difference, if any, in regards to the quality of the materials therefore down the asthetics and which you prefer. If anything the green offers a little more shade than the camo, but it is quite minor The large square internal space can accommodate two bedchairs and two anglers’ luggage. Alternatively, it can be used as a large social area/ dining room. It has plenty of headroom and even the tallest angler can walk in and out of the shelter with ease. This dual-layer system helps hold heat in the winter without condensation forming on the inside of the tent. It also helps keep the interior of the bivvy cool during the summer months.

Overall, the JRC Defender is a bivvy that doesn’t “wow” you but it’s extremely fair to the wallet and will serve you well through the warmer months if you’re looking for a fair-weather shelter for two. If you want a 2-man bivvy to accommodate more kit and provide a bit more comfort for holiday-style sessions, you may be concerned about weight. In this case, I’d opt for something such as the Trakker SLX or Sonik SK-TEK. These bivvies have a large internal space but cut down weight by using fewer ribs and lightweight fabric. Alright, they aren’t cheap and they’ll get you spending more money with all the fantastic add-ons available. However, if you’re looking for a shelter that’ll last a lifetime, that you’ll always be able to get parts for, and that is extremely customisable, a Trakker bivvy is a great choice. The main attraction of the Ascent over the HQ Dual Layer is definitely the price. This comes in at around half the price of the HQ. It’s also lighter (without the overwrap). The shelter has a classic pram hood design with a sewn-in front panel with mesh windows. It’s easy to erect and comes complete with a groundsheet, pegs, and storm poles as well as a large peak for doorway protection from the rain. Let’s take a look at five factors to consider before you get yourself a new 2-man bivvy: 1. How Waterproof Should a Bivvy Be?

It’s not huge inside but there’s enough room for two anglers and their luggage. What really makes this bivvy special is the epic build quality, great ventilation, adjustability, and the wide range of add-ons available separately. This bivvy has plenty of ventilation aspects including two rear mesh panels, one large mesh panel on the letterbox door, and two front mesh window panels. The EOS 2-man bivvy is definitely not winning any awards in terms of features or stand-out innovations, but it does exactly what it should as a large shelter for two carp anglers. It has a large porch and removable front panel that can be configured in several different ways depending on your style of fishing, the season, and the weather conditions. It’s also compatible with the Escape XF2 porch extension which creates a large usable space on the front of the shelter for long holiday-style sessions. If you’re looking for a ridiculously large bivvy for social sessions and long continental sessions, this is a serious contender.

You can also save weight by leaving additional items such as storm poles, groundsheets, overwraps, and extra pegs at home if you’re concerned about overloading yourself, your carp barrow, or your dinghy. 4. Do You Need an All-Season Bivvy? Ventilation is all well and good, but unless you can leave the vents open in the rain you’ll still get condensation inside the bivvy when you’re zipped in. Dual-layer bivvies, overwraps, or other means to keep the rain out while letting air in will allow you to keep air circulating no matter the conditions.
