Non-clumping litter is more likely to break down or turn into sawdust when wet. Many can be composted if they’re the right material, decomposing in the correct conditions which effectively leaves barely any trace on the planet. Wood pellets make for cheap litter in general, but there is a risk that the wood is quite dusty and not the greatest quality. However, this blend is made from a particularly high grade of 100% virgin softwood, so not only does it feel okay under your cat’s paw pads but they’re light in colour too for easier management. Clay is often seen more with clumping litters due to its reaction when wet, but if made from forms other than bentonite it is less likely to clump.
