About this deal

Although we haven’t had a chance to fly anywhere this year (yet) the Jet has been updated for 2020 and Silver Cross kindly gifted me one to road test in the UK over the last couple of weeks. Our tester hung her changing bag on the Jet’s handlebar to observe how it performed during a topple test with her daughter in and out of the seat, and in both instances the buggy remained firmly upright.

The Jet's handlebar isn’t extendable, but proved a good height for both parents in our tester family (5’6” and 6’1” respectively) and was one of the highest handlebars we tested this year. It’s covered in leatherette, which is comfortable to grasp, and it’s also water-resistant so there’s no chance of a soggy push during a downpour. The best bits of the Silver Cross Jet include its super light weight, compact fold and the fact you can use it from birth without an insert as it lies flat completely. Miles always napped comfortably in the Jet and the fact it has some ventilation came in handy in warmer locations. In Mykonos using a Nowababy seat liner to keep him coolNew for 2020, the Silver Cross Jet car seat adapter now includes a bar that provides better stability for the car seat and attaches more easily, too. The bar and adapters can be disassembled for easier transport. It feels better to push too. I worried that as Miles got bigger the Jet might not feel as sturdy, but the wider wheels seem to to counteract his weight really well.

After just over a year of travelling with the Silver Cross Jet to 5 different countries, I decided to trade in both my Silver Cross Wayfarer pram and Silver Cross Jet travel stroller for a Babyzen Yoyo+ as we were no longer getting much use out of the pram. The Silver Cross Jet is the first travel stroller I bought and it literally came around the world with us in Miles’ first year. I used it every day in New York for 7 weeks and also travelled with it to Australia, Singapore and Greece, as well as on various UK trips. I genuinely wondered why people put some much time and effort into buying a pushchair until I became a parent and was suddenly obsessed with the quality and efficiency of what I chose to push my kid around in.Like other pushchairs in the Silver Cross range, the Jet is classic, simple and understated. The materials feel middle of the road, but the handlebar and bumper bar are covered in leatherette which give them a high-end feel.
