About this deal

He meets his 'rebellious child' and his 'adult' along the way and by the end of the book, Toad is setting out on a completely new adventure – as debonair as he ever was. Toad is greatly moved by this rapid response rate, which gives him a sense of security so that he can drop the facade and be his real self with the counsellor. A clever intertwining of the tale of Toad and the intricate thought processes behind the science of counselling.

However, people in this position never feel depressed, because they always blame others and rarely feel guilty themselves. Robert de Board introduces us to counselling with his account of The Wind in the Willows character Toad having therapy. Những khái niệm như bản năng (id), siêu tôi (super ego), cái tôi (ego) được bác Diệc hình tượng hoá rất đơn giản và dễ hiểu. Never Eat Alone’was published in 2005 and has been a top seller ever since it became known to the public. When we are feeling negative emotions or experiencing a mental conflict, we tend to turn to friends for guidance.Như trong truyện là việc Ngài Cóc "lớn" đi trị liệu tâm lý, bước vào một hành trình phản tư, và tự kết nối với bản thân, từ đó chữa lành Ngài Cóc "bé". Their minds are liable to remember sad and unhappy events, while they tend to forget or ignore the good times.

Over the course of ten sessions, which correspond to chapters of the book, a very depressed Toad learns how to analyse his own feelings and develop his emotional intelligence using the language and ideas of transactional analysis. Brilliantly uses one of the world's favourite stories for all ages to engagingly and revealingly take us through the psychotherapeutic process and transactional analysis. Toad meets his inner “rebellious child” and his “adult self” during the ten sessions that make up the chapters of this book. This is a joyful book to read – a clever pastiche of Graham Greene’s Wind In the Willows it explains the principles of Transactional Analysis in a way that more ‘technical’ books on the subject can’t reach. She often deliberately shut off her motherly side when dealing with Toad; even the number of times she hugged him was very low.Transactional Analysis is a psychoanalytic theory that helps to identify the ego state of the communicator as a basis for understanding behavior. A must-read for anyone approaching counselling for the first time, whether as a student or as a client, or for the professional counsellor looking for something to recommend to the hesitant. My initial misgivings about reading this book (as I don't know the story of The Wind in the Willows) were totally unfounded as I found the book hugely helpful even as a stand-alone.

When we understand which life position we chose and the three ego states, we can shake the hand of our past self, rework our own life script, and live a self-led life. Now I have some distance from that time this little book with its powerful metaphors has proved helpful in helping me recast the whole experience. It can help people change their casual behaviors in life, build more valuable relationships and achieve greater success. What I liked: Being someone who is fascinated in the counselling process, I loved the way a story that could be read to a child explained the counselling process as a method of dealing with psychological distress. Through these experiences, we form our own particular view of the world and our unique way of looking at things. The therapist in the novel was also interesting to see, it was interesting to see a counselling session be adapted to the life style of the wind in the willows.

For over 25 years Counselling for Toads has provided readers with a warm and engaging introduction to counselling, brought to life by Toad and his friends from Kenneth Grahame’s The Wind in the Willows.

May everyone be an excellent decision-maker, a fantastic author of their fate, and shine brilliantly on their own stage! The book offers a number of lifelong social rules that break down the way people think about social behavior. He feels that he does not deserve it, that he hasn't done a decent job, and he has made a mess of his life.
