The qualification meets the Department for Education’s (DfE) Level 3 full and relevant criteria for a Level 3 Early Years Educator. Most learners aged 19 and over, studying at Level 3 or Level 4, will qualify for these loans from the UK government. You will also need to have a placement in an early years setting in mainland England with support from a workplace mentor. Enrolment paperwork finalised – an Alliance Training Advisor will schedule a Microsoft Teams video meeting with you to review enrolment details and check your identification (please bring photo id to this meeting). Upon successful completion of this qualification, you can apply for roles as early year’s practitioner and educator roles in an early year’s settings in which you will be working with children aged from birth to five years of age.
Upon achievement of this qualification learners will gain their licence to practise and it is intended that learners will be able to enter the workforce as Early Years Educators. From 3 April 2017, the requirement for Level 3 Early Years Educators (EYE) to hold GCSE English and maths A*-C, will be broadened to Level 2 qualifications, including Functional Skills. Learners must achieve 23 mandatory units, equating to 61 credits, which include observational studies and competence in a real work environment. Learners aged 16-19 (and learners aged 19-24 with learning difficulties and/or disabilities) funded by the Education Funding Agency will not require GCSE English and maths grade A* - C prior to commencing their Early Years Educator qualification.
