About this deal

Fresh weapons emerge from Forge World for your games of Adeptus Titanicus – in this case the devastating Conversion Beam Extirpator for the Warlord Titan, a torso-mounted Conversion Beam Dissolutor each for the Reaver Titan, and an arm-mounted Conversion Beam Dissolutor for Warhound Scout Titan. All three devices are cast in resin – and terrifying weapons of immense destructive force. We’re not sure whether this so-called Father of Darkness is an actual god, but we do know he’s very popular with Chaos-corrupted duardin. The stars have aligned, the orreries have rotated into place, and the sacred spawning pools have been frothing like an overpowered jacuzzi. That’s right – the Seraphon are getting new models and a new battletome. Crypt of Blood is the new Warcry starter set, and is firmly targeted at introducing new players to the game. The box contains everything you need to start playing! The Set

The Starmaster comes with a number of options for different arms, faces and trinkets. There are also plenty of choices to make around building his floating palanquin and which skinks will attend to his needs. The other huge rule change to Warcry is the addition of Reactions to the game. This is important, so let's spend some time on it. If a fighter has actions left for the round (meaning they haven't acted yet, or chose to wait for their first action) they can use a reaction in specific circumstances. Both warbands included in this box set have their own reactions (which we'll cover down below) but there are three universal reactions all fighters can take. This Horns of Hashut fighter is all out of activations and cannot make a reaction, but the waiting Rotmire Creed Fighter can This is a really fun story told in great detail in the lore at the front of the warband tome included in this box's battletome. And while all of the storytelling has been great this season, I found some of the little scenes and vignettes in Warcry Nightmare Quest truly compelling. Warcry Nightmare Quest - What Models Are Included? The warband is ‘lead’ by the Wielder of the Blade, a powerful melee combatant with a three-damage weapon, who can resurrect his own minions after he slays an enemy model – the warband is hyper-focused on decapitation. The Sybarites box is an exciting proposition for a Slaanesh player. There’s no start collecting for Slaanesh mortals. These aren’t the most exciting units in the range, we’re not talking mounted and centrepiece models, but they’re reasonable battleline that you’re likely to use at least a unit of in a mortal army. The Painbringers also come with the option to build Twinsouls instead. You could do worse than this box and a Lord of Pain to start your Sybarite army. Kruleboyz We’re not sure who Lord Leech is, but the Rotmire Creed do seem to like green clothes and diseases. Keep your eyes – all eight of them if you’re so blessed – on Warhammer Community this week for more information about Warcry: Red Harvest, as we jump into the rules with all the force of an enraged Darkaoth Savager.

A new box set wouldn’t be much without new rules and ways to play the small skirmish game mode set in Age of Sigmar As with all of the recent Warcry big box releases, this set includes two rival warbands, a whole slew of new terrain (including an incredible Realmshaper Engine), a game board to play on, and more. The official list of components is: You’ll also be able to read all the lore from the Codex supplement Space Marine: White Scars on the Warhammer Vault with your subscription. We’ve got all sorts of wonderful articles for you next week on Warhammer Community. There’s another reveal for Cities of Sigmar and Necromunda, more miniatures for Legions Imperialis, alongside an interview with the Warhammer studio about designing tiny tanks for this new scale of battle, and plenty of excellent articles all about the best hobby in the world. Heart of Ghur also serves as an introduction to the Gnarlwood, an environment that will continue to be explored with additional box sets and terrain in this new season of Warcry. This setting is significant and stretches beyond the confines of this skirmish game. Both Age of Sigmar and Warhammer Underworlds are releasing titles in this locale, as the theme will touch all of Games Workshop’s fantasy products. Pretty hot on the heels of the Crypt of Blood Starter Set comes the next entry in Games Worlshop’s Age of Sigmar-set dark fantasy miniatures skirmish game, Warcry. They may carry hammers and other tools of the forge, but the Horns of Hashut prefer destruction to creation. They harness the power of fire and leave nothing but charred corpses in their wake, just as Hashut demands.* Want to drown the Mortal Realms in a roiling sea of bouncing, gnashing monsters? The Stampeding Squigalanche is the Battleforce for you, containing a Loonboss on Giant Cave Squig, two Mangler Squigs (one of which can also be built as a Loonboss), 10 Squig Hoppers, and 10 Squigs with two long-suffering Squig Herders. That’s… a lot of teeth. Battleforce: Legion of Grief

Hunter and Hunted also comes with a brand new piece of terrain – a troublingly toothsome Mawpit, complete with a bone pulpit built over its fanged rim by worshipful ogors. These peristaltic potholes must constantly eat or else return to stone and dirt, and so consume anything that ventures near them, screeching and howling the moment they finish their meal. A duo of spiteful spirits from the World-that-Was find new purpose in the Revenant Wargrove, enacting the most extreme of Alarielle’s judgements upon the realms. Drycha Hamadreth and the Spirit of Durthu are joined by a Treelord, 10 Spite-Revenants, and 16 Dryads. Curseling, Eye of Tzeentch Both lanyards and desk mats will be available directly from the Games Workshop webstore and certain stores on Saturday the 29th of July.*Included in the box are the Underworlds warbands Xandire’s Truthseekers, and the Crimson Court. There are two of my favorite warbands… but the choices here are strange. The Crimson Court is a great add – it’s been harder to find around these parts and has some nice proxy models for Soulblight Gravelords heros. Xandire’s Truthseekers have made their way into a few sku’s now – Harrowdeep, the oops-only-warbands Rivals of Harrowdeep, and the Warhammer Quest-lite Lost Relics. It would have been nice to see another rarer warband just for availability, but they are some of the coolest models in the Stormcast line. GW revealed a new warband for Warhammer Underworlds, ‘The Headsman’s Curse’.This new Nighthauntwarbandwill be the first new list to join theWyrdhollow season ofUnderworlds. These damned souls are enslaved to one of Nagash’s magical swords, theDread Blade Terminus. Warcry: Crypt of Blood is a brand new small-scale starter set designed to help new players break into this exhilarating game with minimal fuss. It contains two Warbands which are a little smaller than usual – ideal for introducing new players to the rules! You can play as either the blazing golden armoured Stormcast Eternals of Xandire’s Truthseekers or the arrogant vampiric nobles of the Crimson Court. This brand new starter set gives you everything you need to start playing swift and decisive skirmish games . Warcry: Crypt of Blood contains two smaller than normal warbands – the Crimson Court and Xandire’s Truthseekers, who are battling over treasures inside a legendary vampire’s tomb. From a cost perspective, the value of this set is sufficient; in isolation, perhaps even strong. It is, however, difficult to ignore how fantastic the original Warcry core box was. While the warbands here are just as intriguing as the previous group, the initial terrain set was one of the best contained sets of scenery Games Workshop has ever released, so it’s difficult for Heart of Ghur to measure up. The Gnarlwood is still an outstanding environment to spill blood in, and it comes to life admirably with spiteful trees and gleaning skulls.

Warcry is the skirmish counterpart to age of Sigmar, withsmall warbands instead of full Age of Sigmar Armies, and gorgeous 3D terrain. The next boxed set will be Nightmare Quest, and will pit the noble Stormcast Eternals against the delusional ghouls of the Flesheater Courts. We’d like to say a huge thanks to the folks at Games Workshop for sending us this box for the purpose of this review. Cheers guys! Warcry: Hunter & Hunted Review – Contents This is a ton of content, and when they say "everything you need to start playing" they really mean it. With the contents of this box, you have a full regimen of fighters and all the tools necessary to jump into the game immediately. The battle wages against the Horns of Hashut and the Rotmire Creed in Warcry Heart of Ghur

The Warbands & Chaotic Beasts

This particular knot of Gnarlwood is represented by even more fleshy Gnarloaks, plus a scattering of palisades and ruins. New to the box are bamboo platforms for your cheeky Chameleon Skinks to skulk about from on high, plus a comfy Hollow Refuge – which gives a glimpse of how warbands might survive in such a hostile environment.** This is very clearly an introductory and learning set. That fact will likely upset some people who are not the target audience of this box. The target audience is more likely to be people new to gaming or skirmish gaming, who need gentle easing into the game. As a product doing that, it’s great. The box has enough to teach the basics, breaks down how to play the games, and given there is a range ruler on the counter sheet and the models are push fit, contains everything you need to play the game. It’s not the full game. It’s not trying to be the full game – but it occupies the same niche as the 40k Intro box. The terrain piece, however, does not quite save itself. Whilst the Warbands are at times a pain to fit together, they do at least fit together. As we said, we had some big issues getting some of the crucial parts of our Mawpit to fit together that ultimately left it with some horrendous gaps around the model. It’s really disappointing. The Mawpit looks like a really impressive bit of scenery, and given the relatively few number of components it’s made from, it looks like it’s going to be an easy build. But it isn’t.
