About this deal

A acclaimed hunter looks to shoot down the abominable snowman. Fortunately, his nanny has other ideas. A loyal son’s struggles to hide the secret about his mother’s ghoulish behaviour. That is until the fate of the world requires the duo’s help. Laugh along to these ten terrifying tales of marvellous monsters, brought to you by David Walliams. My boys and I actually came up with suggestions for the author in the car this holiday, as alternatives to More Worlds' Worst Children (suggestions available on request, Mr W). And while Monsters was a good idea, half of these are more WW Teachers/Children under another name. I honestly don’t have a bad word to say about this book. I have already read it twice and I can easily see myself reading it again and again in the future. After this fantastic installment to ‘The World’s Worst’ series, I can’t wait to see what David Walliams comes up with next.

Walliams said: “This was a blast to write and so I hope it is a blast to read. My son gave me the idea for the book as he loves monsters even more than I do.” This really is Walliams at his most silly - the perfect combination for thousands of his loyal fans” - Daily Mail But as parent/librarian, I'm now getting annoyed at the deterioration in quality of Walliams' writing to the extent that I'm struggling to even read them aloud to my 6-year-old. Cally Poplak, executive publisher, said: “Since joining HarperCollins Children’s Books just over a year ago, I’ve been dazzled by David’s creativity as a children’s writer and touched by seeing first-hand the delight he brings to children through his books and at events. The World’s Worst Monsters is funny and heart-warming, and magnificently illustrated by Adam Stower – the perfect book to share the pleasure of reading.” David Walliams is a literary phenomenon whose books have sold more than fifty-three million copies worldwide and have been translated into fifty-five languages.

Laugh along to these ten terrifying tales of marvellous monsters, brought to you by David Walliams, and illustrated in glorious technicolour by Adam Stower.

For kids who would normally look at you as if you’re mad to suggest reading for pleasure” - Independent As a special Walloween TREAT, watch David reading his brand-new book LITTLE MONSTERS RULE! in full below! Available for a limited time only, so don't miss out and make sure you share this story with your own Little Monsters before Friday 3rd Nov at midnight! David Walliams has announced his latest book in the World’s Worst story collection, published by HarperCollins Children’s Books (HCCB). Each of the book’s ten short stories is a (gently) spooky and fast-paced standalone tale, which breaks the book into manageable chunks that kids can dip in and out of. My personal favourite was The Curious Case of Miss Gorgon; what kid wouldn’t be instantly enthralled by an opening line like ‘The headmaster had been turned into stone!’? If you don’t like ghosts, ogres, zombies, vampires, aliens, werewolves or mummies, DO NOT READ THIS BOOK.We are delighted to announce three signing events for Robodog, with David Walliams and Adam Stower this Easter! Below you can read an exclusive digital chapter sampler, featuring 'The Legend of the Wolfwere' story, from David Walliams' brand-new book 'The World's Worst Monsters!' The World’s Worst Monsters by David Walliams is an absolute must-have for all Middle-Grade readers.
