About this deal

Lay Down Daddy Games was conceived in 2013 when Neptune Blue’s CEO Jim Manduca had two young boys running around at home. At the time, Jim was working as the Film, and 3D animation Director at Fuel Industries and the position required many long days and nights. Upon coming home, Jim would head straight to the living room floor and call the kids over. The activities soon came to be called “Lay Down Daddy Games.” It was a fun name to say, and for Jim, it meant Daddy was just another play structure that you layout on the floor. For his boys, it was a just, “Lay Down Daddy!” A used book that does show some small signs of wear - but no tears - on either binding or paper. Very good items should not have writing or highlighting. And as I’m pretty much THE official expert on playing lying down I was surprised I’d not already written this one! The reality is, that in these moments I have already gravitated to some of these “lay down games”. This made it all the more enjoyable to read through the activities in this book and see how many I had already tried. 11 out of 25 was my score! This was very exciting. It meant there were lots of new opportunities to entertain my child whilst lying down! What is it?– this ones great because you even get to close your eyes! Lie down and let your child place something in your hands. You have 3 chances to guess what it is. They win a point if you guess incorrectly. Hairdresser– you might need to sit up for this one but let them play with your hair. N.B. only let them loose with a soft hairbrush. The idea behind the game is to lie on the floor and have your child bury you in pillows, cushions, blankets, soft toys or anything of this nature, so you are hidden underneath. It is both a building game, a hiding game and could even be a scaring game if your child would enjoy it! So there is no doubt in my mind, if you can both entertain your child, whilst being wrapped up in your quilt in bed…that is going top of my list! 2 nd – Gamer Tag “Daddy”

I am happy to accept that there are times in which I can be moderately lazy. My wife may argue the term “moderately”. However, I couldn’t help but be intrigued as to what some of these lay down games were! So, if you’re feeling tired, ill, fed-up or just need a few minutes to get it together, I hope this list will help… Duvet den– a particular favourite of mine because it seems to entertain our boys for so long with minimal effort from me! Lie in bed and use your knees to hold the duvet up to make a ‘cave’. You can be dragons, badgers, explorers. If you fancy doing a little ab work then you can mix it up a little! I will note for the record, that I thoroughly enjoy playing games with my daughter. I also spend a lot of time playing games with her. But I am sure I am not alone in saying that sometimes it is hard to match the enthusiasm or commitment that it takes when entertaining a young child.
