About this deal
All of this combined, yes, you are reminded of Aventus, but in a more watered-down reinterpretation. The fragrance itself wears more like a light Eau de Toilette, rather than Eau de Parfum. Aventus and all of its clones can be worn by men and women. Now easier than ever before, citruses and musks and widely acceptable as unisex creations. I did receive compliments here and there, by wearing this perfume, and I guess the compliment number would be higher if the fragrance projected more.
Woody Eau de Parfum. The fragrance pyramid includes notes of bergamot, leather, and bamboo. A unique, elegant, and long-lasting fragrance.” Notes and Classification In case you are in doubt whether you should consider buying this fragrance or not, it’s always good to take a look at Scent Grail’s S.P.A. Signature Factor Guide. As for the official notes, they get you an idea of what the fragrance should smell like, but don’t tell the real story. The scent opens up a zesty combination of bergamot, lemon, and sweet lime. Zara’s official blurb: “Vibrant Leather is a perfect balance between the peace & romantic side of woody notes and the vitality & the intense of leather. Vibrant Leather Eau de Parfum was created by Jerome Epinette and was launched in 2018 by Zara. This release was the turning point for the brand, often ignored in the fragrance community until then.
In clear contrast to the screeching lemon and the rather dull ginger in the Lemon&Ginger-Acqua Colonia of the traditional brand 4711, which I actually appreciate, the ginger in this Zara Cologne appears fruity, pleasing with minimal pungency and medium sweetness, like candied ginger: delicious. First thing first, this is not a Vibrant Leather flanker, yet a new edition of From Paris to New York. I'd like to express my real impression of this brand new Zara's release. Albeit the name and the box look different, the smell and the description on the box are the very same. The opening is strongly citrus and closely akin to Zara Blue Hole, as many reviewers stated, yet they take separate ways as soon as the heart starts beating and the dry down approaches. Definitely, BH has a clear heart floral note, bright jasmine that turns to an earthy and woody accord akin to patchouli and cedar, it reminds me of CD Homme Sport 2008 to be exact, instead, VL Cologne is more seasoned, the ginger is hot and chilly in the heart, and it turns into a neat musk, this one evoking me of CD Homme Cologne 2013. Since I own both Zara's and CD's fellows, I had an opportunity to study all of them side by side on my skin, they all smell quite apart as both CD Homme Sport and Homme Cologne do. Oftentimes, people are too hasty, they quit and conclude on the first impression, but scents are alive and take their time to develop and reveal their heart and base.
The leather accord is barely there, and if it wasn’t listed as an official note, I doubt anyone would detect it.
Vibrant Leather is one of those versatile and modern fragrances that fit into any scenario and season. No complaints here, but I would avoid the extreme heat and cold since the composition is fresh and wears light. On the other hand, I can imagine only too well that this fragrance is quite capable of animating the wearer to deal with the "original". Especially when the environment speaks to you about it and possibly adds an insinuation: "Man, the Dior Homme Cologne suits you but particularly well. Fits you."
What made this release different from others in the Aventus clone genre such as Montblanc Explorer and Armaf Club de Nuit Intense Man was the fact it was the first one that’s widely available around the world. Some of the big names such as Acqua di Parma of Montale are yet to be implemented. The perfumer behind this creation is Jerome Epinette. The design of the bottle alone hints at what might await you here. In some ways, this approach can certainly be called pretentious. On the other hand, the "original" is paid tribute accordingly, which is probably also reflected there in the sales figures. The name 'Vibrant Leather' seems rather absurd and misleading, as there is no leather or at most only a minimal base, which has a soft, cedar-like scent in addition to the permanently pleasant, fragrant mandarins and could possibly be mixed with a hint of musk and vetiver. The leather that the name refers to is more likely to be the wearer's pelt, which may start to vibrate a little in the face of such welcome refreshment. It is obvious that Zara’s brief with Jerome Epinette was to create a cheap alternative for Creed’s Aventus that smells decent, and that there is no real “ passion” behind this, as we frag-heads like to say. It is probably obvious that Zara has ventured here very close to Dior Homme Cologne. Maybe even so close that it's just legal. I can very well imagine that Demachy and Epinette are smirking about it, but that the Parisian fashion house Dior has very well considered taking legal action against it. But let's put the conjecture aside.
Normally, I’m done with all the clone perfumes, being the cheapies or expensive variations on the popular DNA. Yet, Vibrant Leather from Zara is such an affordable scent that I had to give it a fair chance at least. I love the heavy, transparent, well-proportioned glass flacon. And the blue suction tube as a functional eye-catcher seems to me to be exemplary modern: Here, Renzo Piano & Richard Rogers have convincingly transferred the Centre Pompidou principle, which emphasises the functional tube, into the world of flacons. The solid plastic cap only slightly clouds this excellent external appearance. What are your thoughts about Zara Vibrant Leather Eau de Parfum ? Have you tried it? Do you like it?Let’s start a conversation and let me know in the comment section below. By available, I mean that it can be found in any Zara shop, and the one I suspect Zara won’t discontinue for a long time to come, as it’s with a lot of their other perfume offerings. But now for the first spoils of my affair with the dashing floozy Zara. Vibrant Leather Cologne is a bright, refreshing summer water, which has already been praised by others and compared to famous siblings. Jérôme Epinette designed a modern, slightly sweet tangerine-ginger cologne, but with a lot of persistence.I had this perfume a couple of times now, and with other perfumes in the same genre I currently own, I still get pleasantly surprised with Zara’s take.
