About this deal

Out of curiosity I tested the power consumption and sure enough the device consumes much less power once it goes into this mode so its definitely turning stuff off internally when this happens.

While I was in HK, I had 2 locations. The "older location" was where my reference was. The "newer location" was where I spent most of my time from late 2012 to late 2018 (Last revised Nov 15, 2019). A: Since power consumption is considered in the design of this machine, Bluetooth does not work when other channels are used. You must switch to Bluetooth input mode to search for pairing. This also shows the impressive range of the T9 BT. In my house, I can play my device from another room, and there are bends in the corridor. Issue #1 (Bluetooth): at some point I got some weird noises when using bluetooth, but I don't plan on using BT much in the feature, so I didn't spent much time on it. My Presonus also have BT and I think at some point my phone was connected to both, so it might have been some interference between the two. This only happened once out of two times I used bluetooth. So my T9 Pro arrived and I have been playing around with it. And mostly I think it's a significant improvement over the T9. I would love @amirm to test this tube amp (though I know given it has tubes it will cause the measurements to probably be poor) but I am always curious as to people opinions. Finally I capitulated and connected the amp to the larger loudspeakers (still with the Mogami cables). A: The input level may be too large. If the volume of the sound source equipment is adjusted to the maximum, and the volume of the machine is also adjusted to the maximum, it is easy to be distorted. At this time, turn down the volume of the sound source input device or machine.

Windows 10 saw it as "SPDIF Interface" device, rather than USB DAC or something, but it's just label which could be changed in sound settings. While I agree there are usually much better dedicated DACS out there I would want some good improvements to the T9 pro in exchange for the sacrifice of a built-in DAC.

How was the Company Founded Founder Mr Liu loves music but is not at all an audiophile. He was in other businesses before as Yima, so when he decided to enter this business he just added Ai, love in Chinese, to the name. You can see that in the photos. But he obviously had found the right people to assist him. I still don't understand the hate for EQs. I have few of them and it is hard to beat dialing in things the way I want to listen to them. Revised 10/6/22: some more design process, including meters, added. Even if you have read it, you may want to re-read.

Nice little glowing amplifier, VU meter works. Left side display could be turned off, but not VU meter light. One example is apparent on U2 Actung Baby "Zoo Station" I have also experienced it on Rusted Root and especially on a Pusifer CD that is recorded. BTW, I have Aiyima A07 pro running with Elac Debut 6 Floorstands, haven't had any issues with it which made me think for another Aiyima product.

This Round's Classical Pick

Where is the Factory The factory (in Guangming, 光明) is operated by Mr Liu’s friend, about an hour away in SZ from the headquarter. Mr Liu forwarded a few pics of the factory, but I hope to visit it personally soon. Preface Boys shall always be Boys (though better not be "Proud"), and we need toys. We are always itchy. But in my 1.5 years here in China, I had not bought a single item. Amazing, no? It's not surprising: I have so much good stuff both in NYC and HK that I simply could not use here, and I have always viewed my stay here as transitional. So whatever tempts me better be (relatively) cheap and cheerful. Practical funtions to simplify use: with input selection and indicators, clearly to show the working status in real time; aluminum alloy case is specially designed, cool and unique to decorate your desktop space.

Tone Control In this configuration, particularly with the USB input, I dialed up the treble a couple of notches (it is indented and the feel is good) to give a little more air on top. It is very effective. No need for bass adjustment as my Floorstander has excellent bass (in both extension, weight and definition). Remember the tone controls are in the digital domain and are “in circuit”, so there is no reason not to use them. Think of them as kind of like dithering, but this is more effective imho (I don't usually like the Filter manipulations and actually harbor at least a little contempt for high end digital products that offer a few to choose from). The reason for this is: without the antenna, the BT will have a poor reception distance, likely 3 ft at most. This will cut off other connected devices. By holding your device close you can achieve re-connection.Now I see what you mean. OK. The Aux Out on the T9 and the T9 speaker output are synchronously controlled by the T9 VOLUME: you turn up the volume and both the volume of your main loudspeaker and subwoofer output will go up accordingly. This has NOTHING to do with the subwoofer CROSSOVER. Or, put it this way. the Subwoofer Crossover ONLY adjusts the sub and has NO effect on the main loudpspeaker. You hear a difference but that is ALL from the subwoofer and your main loudspeaker is NOT changed at all under any circumstances. Issue #2 (power inefficiency): When turned on it draws close to 11W! This is with no inputs or outputs connected to it yet, which came as a bit of a (negative) surprise. I wasn't expecting that much power consumption for such a small device that was supposed to be power efficient (according to some comments I saw online). As a comparison the Motu M2 only consumes about 2W.
