About this deal

EASYJoint is the UK's top-selling paving jointing compound, favoured by professionals and DIY installers all around the world. This product was first developed in 2009 and has now evolved to meet user demands and keep up with the latest trends in the industry. The EASYJoint family now has 9 products within the range.

A single 12.5Kg Tub of EASYJoint will cover approximately the following areas of paving* Paving Size (mm) The jointing compound wants a 3mm gap (no problem if much larger like 10mm) and in their example they want to highlight an inch depth, despite being a new install, they will still want you to go an inch down on your old patio – this is pretty much the standard and whilst it never guarantees you hold weeds and insects at bay, you give yourself the best possible chance! Any dates specified by Building & DIY Supplies for delivery of the Goods are intended to be an estimate and time for delivery shall not be made of the essence by notice. If no dates are so specified, delivery shall be within a reasonable time. Do not use a pressure washer on the paving for at least 4 weeks after EASY Joint’s application. Always use a fan type nozzle at a 45 degree angle and no closer than 15 cms / 6 inches to avoid removing the jointing material from between your slabs. Is EASYJoint suitable for patios and driveways? Wet the paving, brush in the compound, then strike the joints for a smooth finish and stronger, durable joint. Both the EASYJoint and Joint-IT products have their own benefits. If you are unsure of the right paving accessories for your needs, call our team. We have a friendly team of paving specialists that will help ensure you create the right paving for your needs. For a strong bond between joints that will ensure no failure, you have to cut reasonably deep, at least an inch evenly all the way along the channels to ensure you get a good bond from stone to stone. If you are looking for a non-staining grout for your newly laid patio or driveway, then why not choose Joint-IT? It is a product that is easy to use and will maintain the integrity of your beautiful natural stone or cobbled area. Everything about never seeing a weed on your patio again is ALL to do with how well you prepare. Following this guide will give you the best possible experience through this project. So let’s get started!

Treat this project in the same way you would using cement. You’ll want decent gloves and make sure that all skin and eyes are protected. This isn’t particularly toxic but be careful and use common sense to keep yourself safe. To the letter of the rule HSE.GOV says that we should use waterproof trousers, masks, gloves, and appropriate footwear such as wellington boots. Dig out the old grout Get a hosepipe and wet down your slab or stone. Don’t flood it to the point you pull the sand but do ensure everything is wet. It won’t be a problem if you don’t shoot directly in the channels. This will give the right environment for the Sika to bond well. Brush in patio grout now This is a relatively new product and I’m always apprehensive to bring in new products but this is worth a shout especially since they know exactly what they are up to: Freezing weather will increase the set time and will cause the process to virtually stop, it can take many days for the joints to set fully hard. However EASYJoint will eventually set and the weather conditions will not have impaired its integrity in any way.To further aid this, "point" or "strike" the joint; do not leave it textured. This ensures the top of the filler is below the top rounded edge of the paving and helps it adhere to the base and sides of the paving material.

EASYJoint can be installed dry, however to use this method the paving must be sealed at least 2 - 3 days before the EASYJoint application. The paving slabs must be sealed on five sides (the top and four edges). When applying dry, EASYJoint compound must be compressed, by striking off with a pointing tool into the joints as it will not self-compact in the same way it does when applied with water. The result of using EASYJoint, to joint your paving, will be a paving gap that is completely filled without the need for kneeling and compressing the material by hand that will last for years. A strong joint that will resist the elements and stand the test of time - better than traditional jointing methods. Sponge Machines & Ancillaries We supply a range of indoor & outdoor sponge machines from Refina & Berta which are suitable for cleaning epoxy & cement grouts such as UltraScape Flowpoint from quarry tiles, external paving slabs, natural stone and granite setts. Our range of sponge machines protects the joints between paving slabs by avoiding washing away the cement, whilst the machine removes the need for individuals to wash away grout on their hands and knees. Deliveries are made between 8.00am – 5.00pm Monday – Friday although we will give you as much notice as possible for early/late deliveries. In terms of install – as the video neatly breaks down for you (I’ve started the video at the right place to save you time), you really want to wet those stones and saturate them. From there it’s pretty much follow my guide – they recommend a stiff broom to move the sand about – this is pretty obvious given wet sand won’t budge with a soft one.

You’ll probably want one tub if you have a patio around 15m2. I know they say you can get 20m2 but if you have wider and deeper joints then it’ll not go as far. My patio area is about 6 metres by 4 metres and I used two tubs to give you an idea of my experience. For ant and insect problems: Sika Pave Fix Plus Buff 15KG– currently unavailable but I’m apprehensive to remove it as you may find it somewhere else Easyjoint can be used in wet or dry conditions and is sold in a 12.5kg tub which will cover an average of 7m² depending on slab size and joint width. EASYJoint is perfect for patios, paving and paths that only have pedestrian foot traffic, however will not withstand the weight of a car or larger van. We do not recommend EASYJoint for use on driveways due to the types of sub-base and bedding mortar needed. Should I seal my paving slabs before using EASYJoint brush-in patio grout? Wet the Paving. Thoroughly soak the patio or paved area to be jointed with lots of water using a hose. The paving must be absolutely saturated before starting and remain soaked throughout the application process ‘the wetter, the better.’ We strongly recommend not shortcutting this process, particularly when working with absorbent or sensitive materials such as Sandstone, Granite and Limestone. Highly absorbent and porous stone will require sealing, 2-3 days prior to laying, on its top surface and four edges.
