About this deal

This particular Giant has enslaved a village of Anybodies and while other travelers have come this way many have turned back unwilling to face the battle. When he does, he is given the understanding of how his Big Dream is only a piece of the Dream Giver’s immense plan. I appreciated the second half of the book, filled with specific questions, answers, tidbits, and hints for the journey. We don’t always need to chase bigger dreams, but seek to glorify God in all things (even the small and ordinary things).

Every day in the land of Familiar there was a routine, a structure supported by all its inhabitants that kept people just busy enough, just tired enough, just numb enough to keep from waking up to their dream. What I love is that Champion doesn’t stay with Ordinary throughout his journey but is key in helping him move through this situation with his own value intact. You can change your choices at any time by visiting Cookie preferences, as described in the Cookie notice. I like this because with so much of coaching being ‘neutral’ one can wonder how we show that we care. The format works well for those that prefer to learn through fiction but is a little slow for non fiction readers.

And, their solution will most likely be superior to any ideas or answers we have swimming around in our heads. The lessons learned from the Wasteland have strengthened Ordinary’s faith and he will need it as he enters the Land of Giants. The great thing about parables is that they are non-specific enough that everyone can find herself in one. Let Bruce Wilkinson show you how to rise above the ordinary, conquer your fears, and overcome the obstacles that keep you from living your Big Dream. A friend recommended it too me and honestly I was listened, related, embraced and was motivated to leave familiar and travel with the dream giver.

However, we usually fail to live out this dream because we are either afraid of failure or simply do not believe that God can bring our dream to life. Like Richard Bach's 1970 classic, Jonathan Livingston Seagull, this little guide by the bestselling author of the Prayer of Jabez franchise is a story about pursuing one's dreams. It doesn't bother me that the author quotes from that story and enlarges on the points he makes in the second half of the book.
