I miss Rachel and her mad sisters and mother already, so I might be tempted into reading the other Walsh books just to get another chance to spend time with them all, though I fear none will surpass how wonderful this one was.In the beginning, Rachel is told that Luke’s mother has died and of course, Luke will be back for the funeral and to take care of his Dad’s affairs. Her bestselling novels include Watermelon, Lucy Sullivan is Getting Married, The Brightest Star in the Sky and The Break. Many books, including Again, Rachel , explore the concept of recovery in various forms (emotional, physical, mental). This is a long book - 579 pages in my doorstopper paperback, and about a third of that is fairly boring filler about Rachel’s work. Instead of showing that you can actually move on from a broken heart and find love with a grown-up, or be happily single, Keyes cleaves to the myth of the “one true love” and (major spoiler) has Rachel getting back together with still-hot in leather trousers (of course) Luke.
