About this deal

That did feel like it was only there to upset people, and whilst it didn’t offend me I also don’t think the story would suffer in any possible way if it wasn’t in there. This story is pretty much American Psycho meets Exquisite Corpse if Jughead Jones (angsty CW edition) was the narrator, written by someone who never totally outgrew their middle school edgelord phase.

I’m talking about the kind of book that will be stuck with me for a very long time because this is absolutely insane. At first he doesn’t believe but she convinces him, he wants her to have an abortion because neither of them is right in the head but she refuses. He makes the reader aware of how people who are different from the rest of us feel, if indeed they feel anything. Dead Inside” reminded me of that as just when I thought no way does this book get even crazier and gorier it sure enough did. It’s not a long read, I did it in a couple of sittings but you could spread it further because the chapters are quite short, so you can pick it up and put it down as required without having to stop part way through a section.

I’m glad it’s such a successful and harrowing novella for so many other people, but given that my issues with this story were so similar to my issues with the last Chandler Morrison novella I read, I’m thinking it’s time to accept that his writing isn’t for me. the mc caught Helen “in the act” and the whole situation was obviously absurdly funny to me once again. I spread her legs a little wider and mount her, groaning as I slide myself into the cold dryness of her unlubricated vaginal canal. The book is extremely well written, and I would love to get into his author's mind, on how he came up with this idea for a book. If anything on this list triggers you or would make you feel uncomfortable at all, whatever you do, please do not read this book. Thinking out loud, I feel like a 5-star rating is an endorsement that bears responsibility and I don't want to be held responsible for anyone picking this book up because they see my star rating as some kind of approval for books of this nature. I feel like there wasn't much of a storyline to this, it's one of those extreme horror novels that are written just to shock and disgust the reader. The actual story here isn’t bad at all but again, I doubt this would ever happen in real life so remember, if you go along for this ride and throw common sense and reality out the window, it’s better enjoyed that way.

Something I did like about this book is that for the most part it didn’t feel like the author was 100% going for shock value to sell this. this book crosses many rules of morality and humanity and has on page sexual violence that’s very graphic. Personally, I thought everything fitted well in the story and made it flow, it didn’t seem to be there purely to offend people because it went somewhere. Dead Inside is THE most unsettling, disturbing, and outrageous book I have ever (or will ever) read.Along the way, lines will be crossed, taboos will be violated, and common decency will take an extended leave of absence. It isn’t clear what happened to the protagonist whether he was caught or whether like Helen he worked his way up to murder.
