About this deal

The element of surprise and unpredictability keeps the game fresh and engaging, ensuring that no two tea parties are ever the same. As mentioned previously, it's no replacement for heavy games like Scythe or Twilight Imperium, but it's a fun game as lighter fare between meals, or when you want to play with younger people.

My my, darling, I say, it is quite a bright day for a stroll out in the garden, did you happen to bring your hat today? This game comes with 20 dinosaur tiles, 20 dinosaur cards, 15 trait tokens for each player, 14 sugar cubes, 5 reference cards, and 3 quirk tokens. If you like off the wall concepts then stop right there and take a look at this social deduction romp from Restoration Games! The reference cards provide a handy reminder of the various traits and characteristics, making it easy to navigate the world of dinosaurs and their tea preferences.

The limited information available and the need to carefully choose questions keep players engaged and thinking. The object of the game is to collect three sugar cubes by guessing the names of three guests at the party. Finance is provided by PayPal Credit (a trading name of PayPal UK Ltd, Whittaker House, Whittaker Avenue, Richmond-Upon-Thames, Surrey, United Kingdom, TW9 1EH). However, if you choose to play with children under seven, I highly recommend two tweaks: reducing the number of dinosaur tiles, and leaving out the quirks. There’s something strangely satisfying about deducing that your significant other is a pancake eating velociraptor named Lloyd and it’s clear that Restoration Games really had fun with this title.

If you think you know which dinosaur a player has, you can take your turn to guess that instead of guessing one of the trait tokens. Additionally, they must answer honestly (unless their dinosaur has one of the three special tiles listed above; more on this in a moment). Restoration Games did a wonderful job dusting off an older game, making some key game play changes, and bringing it to colorful life again.

Players continue taking turns until one player has correctly identified 3 guests (claimed 3 sugar cubes). Overall, the mechanics work, and make it palatable for adults without putting it out of reach of young children.

It is not unique nor ground-breaking in its execution and there is very little to no strategy involved. Everyone is catching up on all the latest gossip and worldly affairs, while sipping tea and eating glorious cakes.Otherwise, the other player discards their dinosaur card, turns the matching dinosaur tile face down, removes all trait tokens in front of them, and draws a new dinosaur card.

Players do so by narrowing down the various traits of each dinosaur at the tea party to discover who the guests may be. If the guest answered yes, the inquiring player may take another turn asking more questions, otherwise play passes on. If it is a yes, they’ll show the yes side, if the answer is a no, they’ll flip it over and show the “X” side. It’s a very rewarding experience watching your kids think through how to narrow down each player’s identity. Each game unfolds differently as players employ different strategies and face new combinations of dinosaurs. As the tea party progresses, the mystery unfolds, and players must use their deduction skills to unravel the secrets hidden amidst the tea and scones. Please note that we are not IOSS registered due to the nature of our products (alcoholic beverages). From wonderfully disgruntles Harriet to zany, burger eating, Kenneth, everyone will have fun looking at these characters. There maybe slight differences in colours, text and other presentation but the basic platform of the item will be what you purchased.
