In my opinion, neither book is as good as the original three or All the Weyrs of Pern, but you might feel differently. Entitled Sunset's Gold, this features Opland and Freeman with other musicians, and comprises twelve tracks of music recorded from 2006 to 2008.Filming was canceled, and rights ownership remained with Zyntopo Teoranta's assign, Kua Media Corporation (Canada). The largest part of the fandom is made up by clubs that allow their members to 'play' Pern by creating original characters within the setting of Anne McCaffrey's world. S'lon then accuses D'kor; noting he delivered the message from Lamrat, but Zenth vouches for D'kor's innocence, prompting S'bor to give D'kor two days to find Lamrat and prove his innocence otherwise he will be exiled to the Eastern Islands — in addition to this, D'kor must find the ingredients required to make the cure. This author, whether a rising star or a seasoned veteran, has crafted the pages that whisk readers away on this series' journey.

Later books deal with the initial colonization of Pern and the genetic modification of small native animals into creatures capable of carrying humans in flight. It details the first time humankind came to the planet that would eventually be known as Pern, and is definitely worth reading.The Masterharper of Pern was made in 1998 by Anglo-Alaskan duo Tania Opland and Mike Freeman in collaboration with Anne McCaffrey at her request, and features the music of Robinton.

Piemur gets training in drumming, a system of long-range communication used on Pern, and becomes trusted with important tasks by Masterharper Robinton. D'kor defeats him and tells him to leave, but is forced to kill him when Lamrat attacks him as he turns away. It would have been nice for a final sendoff for F’lar and Lessa but given the quality of the later books, it might have been a let down anyway. Arriving in the cove, where the Clear Endeavour is docked, D'kor learns from Zenth that N'eth has been left to drown in rising water; if he is able to make it there in time, he will be able to untie N'eth and allow him to swim to safety.

It takes a character mentioned briefly in Moreta and tells us the rest of her story, as Paul Harvey might say. Those who know these extraordinary tales will be able to re-visit with Lessa, F'lar, Ruth, Lord Jaxon, and all the others. The bonding instantly creates a very close, lifelong relationship – the dragon almost invariably commits suicide at the rider's death, and a rider whose dragon died bears a deep emotional wound which can never be fully healed.
