About this deal

Skull fire logs took over the internet a few years ago, and we’d be lying if we said that we didn’t get excited about them every Halloween season. If you are going to use your hellfire pit purely for decoration and don’t care what sort of Sterno can you’re using and yours doesn’t have that flanged wire collar, I would recommend adding a similar collar using a few twists of medium gauge wire. Note that ornament characteristics will improve over time as soot is built up on the surface, eventually leading to a long burning, charred appearance. The skull is made out of specially formulated glass light weight ceramic fiber reinforced concrete (GFRC).

When the log is placed just right and you ignite the fire pit, it appears that the flames are blazing out of the eyes. We take intellectual property concerns very seriously, but many of these problems can be resolved directly by the parties involved. If you wait too long, you’ll still be able to do the rest of the project, but it’ll be a whole lot harder and a whole lot messier as your plaster will be fully cured and much tougher to cut through.

Make sure the material your skull is made of isn’t porous (this includes some plastics, clay, other plaster skulls, wood, and all actual bone). KEEP YOUR FAMILY AND HOME SAFE FROM ANY TOXIC FUMES: Regal Flame gas logs, skulls, pebbles and accessories burn clean and do not release any ash or residue into the air like some lower quality fake fireplace logs. New: A brand-new, unused, unopened and undamaged item in original retail packaging (where packaging .

This creates a lightweight hollow skull that will be easier to work with when we move onto prepping the skull to install our Sterno can.

To remove your original skull (and all subsequent plaster skulls), simply roll the edge of your latex down over the back of your skull and peel it off.

But what if there was a way to turn those bonfires into creepy (and really f*cking cool) gatherings? Once your three to four layers have fully hardened (I like to wait about 20 minutes after the last layer has set), release your mother mold and peel off your latex. Once all your plaster cloth is dry, carefully peel the two halves of your mother mold apart, revealing your latex covered skull in the center. As it is plaster it will eventually break down and degrade if left in a damp environment without a sealer.

Unfortunately, there is an vast number of unauthorized internet retailers who cannot guarantee your satisfaction with warranty and service issues. If you’ve already done that, your item hasn’t arrived, or it’s not as described, you can report that to Etsy by opening a case. Latex is relatively easy to find year-round (you can get the stuff I’m using at Michael’s for fairly cheap. To my dismay, I came across a pin that indicated that you need to use casting refractory cement for making fire pit skulls.
