About this deal

It makes no sense in-game (I know it’s related to a taunt), and it makes even less sense as a real product. Super Jump Punch is an incredibly powerful uppercut attack that launches its victims directly upward. You’ll want to avoid using Fireball, Green Missile, and Luigi Cyclone during training; in the case of the former, the AI often uses its Fireballs at inappropriate times, such as when directly next to an opponent. Obviously, the pose requires a stand which looks alright, but it is always nice when the stand can be hidden and this one is in plain sight so that is a small negative. Regarding stat distribution, keep your FP’s spread balanced as best you can (2100 / 2100) and then make sure its Spirit-type is Neutral so it avoids losing Spirit-type matchups in the future.

These are some significant downsides, but one thing I do like about the Smash Luigi Amiibo is that Nintendo tried to give his jeans a rough denim texture. After using an amiibo, when Mario grabs a Mystery Mushroom he takes on the amiibo character's appearance, complete with character-specific animations and sound effects. We host online tournaments there too, and if you want to learn how to enter one, please refer to our tour entry guide. Omega Luigi stood the test of strength even against several Bowser amiibo during one of the largest amiibo tournaments ever, being Captain Kidd’s 50K Subscriber tournament.

Luigi has Green Missile on stage hard-coded into his AI, but avoiding it at all costs, both using it and being hit by it, will reduce his usage of it by a lot. Avoid Green Missile as well; it has massive startup and ending lag, and Luigi’s AI is hard-coded to use it to recover (so you don’t need to teach it to use Green Missile for horizontal distance). Luigi can also benefit well from Instadrop + Landing Lag down, as seen from Omega Luigi, trained by LML123. Luigi’s victory animation in Smash Brothers (and I think one of his moves as well) is the inspiration for this pose. The Super Smash Brothers Luigi has always been common and he fit Nintendo’s early release strategy of making the most popular characters like Mario and Link common.

You can only kind of see it in the picture below, but it does give Luigi a more realistic look (as strange as that is to say).Raid Boss bonuses: If you’re training a Raid Boss but don’t want to make use of any of the Spirit effects listed above, you can try a setup including Physical Attack ↑, Move Speed ↑, and Landing Lag ↓ instead. Luigi can get stuck in what is known as a taunt loop, where he will begin to taunt nonstop until he is hit.

The goal of this article is to help anyone trying to pick just one of the Luigi Amiibos available to get the best overall figure. And while Luigi Cyclone is strong against other FPs, the AI occasionally gets ahead of itself and uses it too often against humans — where it’s easily punished. We specialize in gaming guides and essays for Pokémon, Animal Crossing, Xenoblade Chronicles, Super Smash Bros. Lastly, Luigi is one of only a few FPs who is vulnerable to taunt loops, in which he will continuously taunt over and over again until he is attacked or grabbed. Let him kill you with the sweet spot by drifting off stage without recovering and just letting him hit you with it in general, because it helps the amiibo learn it better rather than just spamming it.

We're committed to providing you with the best possible service, and we'll do everything we can to make sure you receive your items on time and in excellent condition. While some might say this is boring, when compared to the Smash Brothers Luigi and its more unusual pose, I come down on the side of the Super Mario Luigi.

You should also reference our Raid Boss amiibo guides, and if you’re having trouble winning in competitive amiibo, check the official amiibo tier list! His down throw leads into two forward airs, his up throw combos into an up air, and his back throw can KO at high percentages. So while there is no difference between the two Amiibo, they are certainly worth picking up since you can use them in a wide variety of games. Train your tennis partner in the Knockout Challenge Mode and upgrade their skills for use in doubles online matches. The metallic paint is a nice accent on this figure and is something I wish the Super Mario Luigi had.By prioritizing multi-hit moves like his dash attack and Luigi Cyclone and his strong moves like forward smash and Super Jump Punch, Luigi can be one of the most fierce competitors in a bracket. These are all great points and I agree with everything you’ve said 🙂 The Smash Brothers Luigi should have been better and I think Nintendo made a mistake by just making the Smash Brothers Amiibo the exact imitation of the in-game trophies. I’d recommend to use more ledge trapping moves, such as down tilt, down smash, or if you’re in the mood for a pretty whacky Luigi, downward angled forward smash. If you are a new trainer, you may be wondering: Can the Luigi amiibo do the 0-to-death combo out of his grab?
