He's so good I've bought a number of other 80th anniversary figures like Thor, Iron Man and the Walmart Captain America. I like my comic figures looking like bright comic panels, and this scheme, compared to the more muted palette of the BAF is much more to my tastes.

With this Marvel Comics 80th Anniversary Legends Series 2-pack, fans can add a piece of Super Hero history to their action figure collection. I didn’t really pair these together for any reason, other than I had four figures left, and it seemed like I should do Shadowcat and Colossus together.

I have heard tell that there have been some joint quality issues with this figure as well, I don’t have that here, but it is something to be mindful of as well. Let’s see, I have gotten two of my favorite Marvel Cinematic Universe character in Grandmaster and Korg in one 80th set, and I have gotten (probably as close to) definitive versions of some of Marvel’s heaviest hitters in Hulk, Iron Man, Thor, and Captain America, and now I am getting the version of my favorite X-Person of all time that I have been AGES waiting for in the 80th execution as well. Some readers were upset by the drubbing I gave poor Age of Apocalypse Cyclops in his review, so I figured I’d jump from reviewing the worst figure in Marvel Legends AOA wave 2 to the best. saw the release of X-Men 102, with its iconic cover featuring the mighty Colossus and unstoppable Juggernaut locked in combat, setting the stage for a rivalry that would shake the Marvel Universe for decades. Having her to stand alongside Piotr just looks so right, despite the (accurate) size discrepancy between the couple.

Yes, it’s pretty tame in some respects, but there was no way Hasbro could have recreated some of the more memorable and trippy depictions we’ve seen in the comic panels.This ML Age of Apocalypse Colossus is a win all-around and a toy that makes me really, REALLY wish I liked this character more. I was particularly struck by the way Bill Sienkiewicz portrayed him in the panels, and later having a friend develop Schizophrenia helped to hammer home the heartbreak I would eventually associate with David. With over 80 years of comic book and movie history, Marvel has become a cornerstone of fan collections around the world. The dichotomy of the simple farmer constantly at war with a humanity that hates him always interested me.

Sure, if I wanted a straight line Giant Size Colossus, or a Jim Lee Colossus, I could mention some things like gauntlets and the belt, but for me, this figure works perfectly for my purposes for BOTH of those teams. Now, I was expecting that I would love the Colossus figure, but Juggernaut was the surprise of this set for me. But, this second assortment is also bringing some major players and the Colossus BAF looks like he’s no slouch! They seem sturdy enough to me that I’m not especially worried about that happening unless excessive force is used. I am going to try to check in again this weekend with Sabretooth and then double up the rest of the reviews for this assortment, so we’ll see how that goes!With the Marvel Legends Series, fan favorite Marvel Comic Universe and Marvel Cinematic Universe characters are designed with premium detail and articulation for top-of-the-line poseable and displayable collectibles. I will likely not be displaying Juggs this way, but it works really nicely for action scenes and photographs, so good on Hasbro to plus up Cain a bit for this release.

These stay in place well and sit so tightly that my half-blind eyes didn’t even notice the belt wasn’t latched until I was done with the majority of the review photos. With premium deco inspired by the iconic X-Men comic issue in which Colossus and Juggernaut first clash, these figures make a great gift for fans of Marvel Entertainment. Hasbro even blesses us with a rare pair of alternate hands for a BAF, giving the choice to pose Age of Apocalypse Colossus with fists for bashing or Zangief-like grappling hands.

The hands are not a huge deal to me because I need my Juggs to have fists, but it is still a nice inclusion, however, getting this new head is awesome and it looks GREAT! While the honorable, gentle giant that is Colossus is among the most beloved X-Men of all-time, the hardened Piotr Rasputin is selfish and cowardly in the Age of Apocalypse, where he abandons all of his young students to die so that he and his wife and sister can escape alive. PREMIUM POSEABILITY AND DETAIL: These highly articulated Marvel Legends Series figures feature intricate character detailing, making them excellent for both play and display.
