About this deal

May have some underlining and highlighting of text and some writing in the margins, but there are no missing pages or anything else that would compromise the readability or legibility of the text.

In the first motion picture there are only seven children, and Nurse Matilda is renamed Nanny McPhee – her first name is not mentioned. At the gaudy wedding, the children pretend there are bees (inspired by the way Quickly told them to "behave," and baby Aggie repeating the word but pronouncing it as "beehive"), chase the guests, and start a food fight using banquet pastries. This book is delightful and charming, and as someone who saw the movie first, I was not disappointed. This volume contains stills from the recent movie “Nanny McPhee” but that is its sole redeeming aspect. I would like to have the books and movies someday though to go along with my dream of owning book, movie combos.

Three Tales From Nurse Matilda (Box Set of Nurse Matilda, Nurse Matilda Goes to Town and Nurse Matilda Goes to Hospital). So yeah, do yourself a favor and enjoy the gorgeous/witty/heartwarming movie and skip this, or at least the second two in this series. The film does not closely follow the plot of the trilogy, but several individual scenes are derived from the three books. There are three separated stories in this movie tie-in edition of the book: Nurse Matilda, Nurse Matilda Goes To Town and Nurse Matilda Goes To Hospital. Besides their father, the only one the children will ever listen to is Evangeline, the family's uneducated but beautiful and sweet-natured scullery maid. That's just disheartening and hard to deal with because you know that the future of any such child is going to be very difficult. Nanny McPhee is a 2005 comedy drama fantasy film based on the Nurse Matilda character by Christianna Brand.

The second movie is a spin off of the first (if you've seen the first one, you'll catch the connection in the second one at the end). Mr and Mrs Brown are always having great difficulty with their numerous and incredibly naughty children. Nanny McPhee embarks on a brand new adventure in this brilliant, funny and captivating novel based on the new Nanny McPhee film due for release 26 March. Nanny McPhee embarks on a brand new adventure in this brilliant, funny and captivating novel based on the new Nanny McPhee film. For those who would be interested – young tweens and up (and this adult), none of the content is inappropriate, just slightly more adult in tone.

The movie is very enjoyable and is very intriguing but I don't think that the book had that much purpose. The entire book reads as if it’s in Emma Thompson’s voice (I would know since I was able to participate in a half-hour interview with Emma Thompson, right? I feel that the movie is more an "inspired by" rather than a "based on", but the movie bill says it's a "based on". Published between 1964 and 1974, these stories are hilarious reminiscences of childhood in the Victorian age. Brought together in one volume are the three remarkable tales of Nurse Matilda - Nurse Matilda, Nurse Matilda Goes to Town and Nurse Matilda Goes to Hospital.
