About this deal

The sword ended up on Midgard where Ruhn Danaan had earned and carried it. The sword calls to both Ruhn and his half-sister, Bryce Quinlan. And they are not out of danger yet. Dragged into a rebel movement they want no part of, Bryce, Hunt and their friends find themselves pitted against the terrifying Asteri – whose notice they must avoid at all costs. But as they learn more about the rebel cause, they face a choice: stay silent while others are oppressed, or fight. And they've never been very good at staying silent. While I did predict the outcome to several plot twists, like the identity of agent Daybright, there were a billion other twists that I didn't see coming, like that ending for which nothing could have prepared me for!!!!. And honestly, it's because half the time most of those twists were coming entirely out of left field and it was all Danika's fault! I was getting second-hand embarrassment for Bryce every time something new was revealed about her supposed 'best friend'. Danika had a whole secret life, filled with so many secrets and people that Bryce never knew about. After a while, it kinda felt like SJM just wanted to introduce new things and didn't know how so she threw them into Danika's bag of secrets and called it a day. I loved every moment of this book. I loved every word. I loved every twist, and every turn, and everything in between.

has anyone noticed how many male characters there are in relation to the number of female characters?Writing Style ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Stunning writing and one I connect with although you need to pay attention given the number of subplots and wide ranging 'fantastical' names. However, for an immersive and absorbing read that captured me through the writing, then it can only be 5 stars.

Ruhn and his love story. That storyline between day and night was the most surprising and delightful thing out of this book. The way these two have a hold on me right now. That ending elevator scene was one of the best in the book!! I was here for it!!!It's loving your friends. Remembering to live no matter what is happening around you. Choosing who you want to be and not accepting the life that was chosen for you. Bryce constantly shows us what it means to truly carve your own way in the world, and I will never stop looking up to her. Wanting to be just like her. Update 9 march 2023: oh oh, so we finally got the RELEASE DATE Y'ALL. you heard me. It's really happening in 2024😭😭 it's a relief to know even not sure (which actually i think it's the real date) aproximatly how many days we will have this in our hand. 🤩🤩 this is because the arc of Bryce and hunt shows how different they romanticize mates, and if that had continued in HOSAB, I would have assumed this is the casual mating bond we know. Instead, we see Bryce and hunt choosing the word "mate" for their relationship, and as the relationship grows, they became true mates. and beyond the beautiful fact that they choose each other before a biological function pulling them together, Bryce and hunt seem to have a power that, together makes them incredibly power. Ruhn and Lidia are obviously mates. Because duh. (Also, I totally called her being Agent Daybright. I knew right from chapter one that Lidia would be a good guy when she threw Sofie into the water.) But anyway, she might have some connection to Aelin???? I just get a vibe from her.

sjm thinks she can make it okay that hunt is a bitchy protective asshole by bryce making fun of him for it, but that’s still his personality and i hate it. sjm if you actually believe that bryce can handle herself and doesn’t need an “alphahole” as you call it, (corny-ass name but whatever,) then make it so.

Same with the scene where the Night king reveals all that happens at the bone quarter. It was just a lot of info dump. The Asteri Bryce & Hunt seriously? am i the only one who couldnt feel the connection/passion between them? theyre better off as friends. also, the smut. from none (book 1) to... how many scenes in this book? idk what to say. and they werent that titillating either. also i might be done with sjm but some of y’all aren’t ready for that conversation bc she’s basically just doing fan service at this point i liked it better when bryce was a messy person who had everyone see her as a shallow party girl so that they wouldn’t see the hurt inside her from losing her best friend (lover)

There were a lot of reveals tho but just someone telling us oh here is how this happens and all. I’ll be honest I was a little frustrated at the end. This book stressed me. I can't even count the number of times I had to put it down and walk away for a minute because I was scared to read what happened next. Every time I thought I knew where the story was going, a whole other layer of complications and magic and worldbuilding was added to the mix. It was a rollercoaster in every way. This is a blink and you miss it moment, and rhun never outright said the word "mate" but know that when scents are released I don't know the sequence of that rightly! (He made a big deal of it with Bryce and hunt) it means this is something Right??? nonetheless, I absolutely love the direction this is taking, specially that we've seen many perfect bonds through the sjm books, which helps readers to believe that incompatible bonds are chosen, and I'm exited to see a deeper moral related to mating bonds like this. As I read more, I finally figured she was the Hind. There was the plot to dissuade us from the belief at the Autumnal Equinox by having Ruhn run into both the Harpy and the Hind. But I knew it was the Hind, She drowned Sophie instead of torturing or killing her and she also has said nothing about finding them in the water.Bryce found the knife, yes, but since in HOEAB it was established that this two blades/knifes(truth teller and starsword) had to be reunited so the fae can be reunited as well, it makes me think of similarly the wyrdkeys (from TOG, alien has to find them from another dimensions and all) one of the knifes is in prythian.
