About this deal

Keep in mind that anyone can view public collections - they may also appear in recommendations and other places. They mention that it has a beautiful smell, it lingers for a very long time and that its a good daytime perfume. Anyway, I think it is a very good cheap alternative for someone who wants to smell somthing similar to no 5 on a daily basis. Much speculation exists as to whether or not Coty got hold of the Chanel no 5 formula or even that Coty had it originally and no 5 was the copy?

A good one to wear during the day but I've had someone make horrified choking noises at me when I came near them in it, so mabye not for everyone. L’Aimant, like my darling Emeraude, is currently in production, but as a mere wraith of its former self. Please read the full reviews and consider your own needs and preferences before making a purchasing decision. This was the scent everyone reached for when they didn't know what to choose for an important date/occasion.

I also remember smelling a set of three Coty fragrances in cologne strength at Big Lots, a clearance-type retailer which I’m sure in retrospect was flogging perfumes in discontinued packaging or formulas, in the mid-1980s. They function similar to the way trippy drugs remove the lid on the mind, the core, which soar up and out. I felt like it triggered a scent memory of some sort, maybe be an aunt wore this when I was a child. Aldehydes can be so strict and it´s also true here, but the wonderful friendliness of this perfume, its skin-like qualities makes it warm and inviting.

Notes for L’Aimant (cribbed from at least three different sources) include aldehydes, bergamot, neroli, plum, apricot, strawberry, violet, rose, ylang, jasmine, iris, oakmoss, sandalwood, vetiver, vanilla, although I don’t smell all of those notes. Top notes are Aldehydes, Neroli, Peach and Bergamot; middle notes are Ylang-Ylang, Rose, Jasmine, Geranium and Orchid; base notes are Musk, Vanille, Sandalwood, Tonka Bean, Vetiver and Virginia Cedar. Most purchases from business sellers are protected by the Consumer Contract Regulations 2013 which give you the right to cancel the purchase within 14 days after the day you receive the item. It's a nice enough fragrance -- probably best for evening because of the intensity of the florals -- but I won't be going out my way to get more of it.I can't say it's one of my most favorite perfumes (I love sweet scents mostly), but I can see its pull. L’Aimant is the French word for magnet also tying into the inspiration for this sensual fragrance, Francois Coty’s attraction to the love of his life. I can almost see a woman with a stacked up do such as was worn in the early seventies and a navy blue doubleknit dress. Someone i know used to wear this (possibly my great grandma) and I hated it then too, which is a shame.

The first thing I noticed was that the cream had no hint of the delicate pink I was expecting (the original was creamy powder pink). Its an old fashion perfume, and I am older so its great for me, and as it isn't expensive I can use it all day when I want too, Not that it's only for old ladies, because most of the compliments I get is from younger girls, and my grand-Daughter uses it she is a teen.L'Aimant is very much like Topaze by Avon (which I wear and love) and I suppose similar to Chanel No. Imagine falling down the rabbit hole and emerging in the 1890s into an opulent room resplendent with art nouveau furnishings, peacock feathers, and a decant of laudanum on the bedstead. It was her signature scent, so whenever I smell this or Max Factor pressed powder, I always think of her. the bubblegum is juicy and sweet and the candyfloss is super sweet and just a little musky so not overwhelming at all. I was curious to try this after reading so many other reviews that liken L'aimant to Chanel's no 5 and having worn Chanel for a number of years I can see why.

I can not speak to its lasting value because other people seem to still smell it on my long after I don't smell it on myself anymore. I have the sleek, elongated bottle with pink label around its neck (same as the one pictured on this page) and am unaware whether this is different from the other newer versions. Created by Francois Coty in 1927 for the love of his life, Coty L'Aimant Parfum de Toilette spray is a distinctive, timeless and delicate fragrance that combines rose, orchid and golden jasmin softly embraced with sandalwood and vanilla.Oranges courtesy of bergamot provide it with that sharp citric scent but it is not too heavy nor anything like medicine.
