Finishing Pads, also known as De-Nibbing Pads, are used to sand finishes down in between applications of finish (Oil, Paint, Varnish) to help create a much smoother finish at the end. There is a chance that it will help but its difficult to say for sure with out seeing the doors and the variance that you have experienced. And not sure about oil, but for paint and varnish, use a tack cloth before every coat/after denibbing (though I have heard that they can leave a residue that affects some finishes, though personally I've never noticed that).
