This is my 2nd purchase of a garden vacuum, my first purchase being a cheap one from some obscure manufacturer for which the bag split after a short while blowing the contents everywhere. Shredding leaves as they are collected, the Jet Vacuum feature is perfect for picking up even wet leaves, and other stubborn debris. In desperation I tried to find a replacement using the venture air mover principal – but could not find one. I can see this unit becoming a permanent resident in my garage or (most probably) featuring in a car boot sale.

We bought the Flymo Garden Vac 2700 because it was the closest we could find to our previous Flymo leaf vac which finally gave up the ghost after many years great service.

This model is easy to use but can feel quite weighty and unwieldy, so may not be ideal for less able or strong gardeners. The new bag has become damaged with the effort of fitting it, the slots that are meant to clip onto the clips inside the channel become stretched and loose. Useful in small to medium gardens with lots of leaves and a range of debris to collect for the compost heap. It also shreds the leaves, but this is of dubious benefit because it just means that the device is even heavier when full, and if you drop any it makes an even worse mess. Also, based on other recommendations in these reviews, purchased the wheel that clips to the front of the vac to enable you to roll it along the ground.

There is a newer, Flymo model, the 3000w PowerVac, but it does not have the same sucking power as the GardenVac, 168 litres per second against 250 l/s.
