About this deal

I sincerely hope we have more books to look forward to in this enchanting story, and pray that the author continues to get inspiration.

Reynard is the New York Times bestselling author of Gabriel’s Inferno, Gabriel’s Rapture, Gabriel’s Redemption, Gabriel’s Promise, The Raven, and The Shadow. Both Gabriel and Julia have a lot going on in their careers and personal lives and circumstances are always on the verge of causing problems.

It was no hardship spending more time with my favourite Professor and number one book-boyfriend, watching as he and Julia tackle parenthood which definitely put a new perspective on their relationship and their careers. I read some reviews saying that there were questions left unanswered in Gabriel’s Promise, but in reality, there aren’t. I loved the book and wanted it to last longer, because I missed the characters and wanted to know soooo much more about them. He and his beloved Julianne finally have a child of their very own and now he’s just been offered the highest honor of his academic career – to give the Sage Lectures at The University of Edinburgh. The premise is engaging and captivating; the romance is energetic and hot; the characters are numerous, colorful and energetic. We have drama as ever, and an undercurrent of uncertainty and definite intrigue that keeps the reader enthralled.

While this story may not pack the punch as some of the previous installments, I think fans of this couple will still enjoy the reunion, as I did. I don't really care for romance novels, but this is one of the few series I make an exception for as the characters are really great, the plot interesting, and the writing well done. Sylvain pulled out all of the stops in this new installment and I'll be honest, I didn't stop once until the pages quit turning. Backstory information was sprinkled throughout to connect peripheral characters from the previous books. The ending, to me, felt a little open ended - so fingers crossed that there will be more in the future. This book would've been good if it wasn't for the unnecessary drama, the lack of uniqueness found in the previous books, and also. And now an even more menacing danger seems to threaten their very lives and forces them to abandon the sanctuary of their home. However this book was not the same as the others, the passion was not the same, and Julia acting dumb and keeping her issues hidden from her husband made my skin crawl!
