Not quite at all, even though we sense suggestions of mandarin and mango, they serve more to quench the spices than to render the scent sweet. Jungle opens with a warm, spicy-orange accord that deftly avoids pot pourri or Christmas associations.

In the drydown, the clove fades into harmony with the other notes and settles nicely into a blend of warm vanilla, clove, gardenia, a hint of simmered orange, and a whisper of powdery ylang-ylang. It may just be the power of suggestion, but I definitely get the "gentle giant" vibe they are going for, from the strong spices contrasting with the soft flowers and wood. It does not blend well with strong food scents, be warned, and too much can knock birds from the trees. A few hours later I asked my daughter if she could smell me when I picked her up from school and she couldn't, even after we were home and she put her nose right up to me. I will need to try this scent during the hotter months because others have said it brings out more of the tropical fruit smells.This isn't a fragrance that you want to spray too much of so two full bottles is kind of unnecessary. Sadly the second is my case, I am being worn by it, desperately trying to survive on an Elephant rodeo. When I breathe in and out on the wrist I’ve applied this on it releases more of the mango and green notes, which does give it more of a jungle vibe.

It's a scent that has a quality that not many scents have, no matter how good I think they smell, or how they check all my boxes for uniqueness, longevity, strength, projection, and sillage—this feels like it suits me, it smells like a "me" type scent. Ok so I wrote a review for this one a while back and compared it to potpourri and a 90’s Christmas candle, while those are valid comparisons, this is a complete spice bomb!It's a beast, lasts all day/night on me, brings a warm spicy glow to another level when layered with vanilla, LOVE it with Tom Ford TV. It’s a crazy strong perfume so not for the faint of heart, In a way I’m sad I’ve smelt this because every other fragrance now feels like it severely under preforms in comparison to Kenzo L’éléphant.

Batch 3XO1 (2013): Upon first application of only one drop on each wrist in 85F/29C temps, I gasped because I smelled the original Cinnabar from the 80s.The light warm spice reminds me of ginger tea with honey and for my personal tastes would work better as a bubble bath or bar of soap, or a potpourri for the living room.
