About this deal

This issue has been reported to Ailunce, but they haven't given any official response which I think means it's a hardware problem that they're not planning to fix. For protection of eHam review readers reviews should not contain links/URLs off-site with the exception of the More info URL. I leave the screen backlight on "continuous", which is necessary for you to see it as it goes completely black when it's in standby. Note: If you plug the programming cable into the computer and the device manager displays "USB-SERIAL CH340 (COM4)", it indicates that your programming cable is a new version. I don’t have test equipment to give accurate results on this, but the sensitivity of the HD1 definitely is comparable to all my other DMR radios including the TYT MD-380 and Motorola DP4800.

While it does not have some of the whistles and bells of an AnyTone, it does have a little more RF power for the fringe areas. I’ll have a YouTube video coming and I hope to have a demo comparing the Ailunce HD1 and my Baofeng on the local analog repeater. And there are many related videos on YouTube, and I can now fully enjoy the functionality of the transceiver.Programming was pretty straightforward with the included programming cable and downloadable CPS software from Retevis. eHam reserves the right to edit or remove reviews and/or products for any reason at any time without prior notice. But if that was the case, then the firmware source code for the AT1846S would not be from the same code base as any other radio we've seen so far, which is a bit surprising, becuase so far, the TYT / Radioddity / Retevis and Baofeng firmware binaries show a high level of similarity, indicating that these firmwares originate from the same company, even though the radio hardware is made by separate companies. I’ve made detailed videos on both of these topics, which you’ll find in my series playlist for the HD1.

Besides other issues I had with this radio (and even the tune tool will not improve the BER and somebody else is reporting terrible BER with DM1701 hotspot in this forum) I would strongly suggest this new version is just a waste of money. I was a little disappointed Chirp and Repeaterbook can’t be used to load repeater frequencies into the HD1 like with the Baofeng and other radios. If you want to turn a knob to get off of an annoying channel and expect that to actually happen, this is the wrong radio for you. The first one I’m going to mention is that this radio has a proper frequency mode where you can spin the channel selector or type in a frequency and start using it straight away.I set up my pi star hotspot, and my interface is up but I can’t seem to figure out where to go from here. You can change the settings for both VFO’s separately in the settings menu, the menu has 11 main settings with more setting within them, they are as follows.
