About this deal

As he approaches 40, he is deeply grateful for ‘God’s truly amazing grace [which] took a once successful London drug-dealing street trader all the way from deliveries to deliverance, from guns to God’. Your heart will break but ultimately you will be left in awe of God’s hand on his life and the redemptive power of God’s love. Domestic violence in our home somehow joined with the religiosity of our father, although it also manifested itself only from time to time. Now his life is on a completely different path and by the end his readers are left inspired and full of hope.

We hope that you too, will catch afresh, the hope of the Gospel as you journey through Claud’s story. Though exceptional in parts, Claud's journey is remarkably relatable: it is one of being shaped by circumstance and formed through faith, of losing yourself only to be found.I don’t know if he was scared, but he seemed as cool as a cucumber and announced his faith in Jesus. Born in Clapham, the youngest of 6 siblings, Claud grew up in the shadow of domestic violence, with a London-born mum and an abusive and controlling Jamaican dad. We don’t share your credit card details with third-party sellers, and we don’t sell your information to others. Yet this ‘success’ was tinged with darkness as a number of his clients died due to drug-related issues; he responded by becoming increasingly emotionally detached, dating multiple women, and suffering a high level of paranoia.

At twelve years old, James Carroll became the collateral damage of his pastor father's infidelity and his parents' divorce. Since then, he has become a treasured friend and we have witnessed his life being transformed by Jesus. His story is one of poverty, abuse, drug dealing, and violence – and of a life turned round by a loving God who refused to give up on him. But he also lived in a permanent state of anxiety with a sense that things were spiralling out of control. When they started to question me on this occasion, it soon came up that I was a mentor for high-risk young offenders with the local council.

By the end of the Alpha course, God had done such a great job in my heart that I went and confessed everything to the priest. I remember on one occasion getting pulled over in my car for speeding and, with the ID around my neck, I stepped out of the car before the police officers could get out of theirs. Finally, the inevitable happened – Claud was arrested and, while being held in a urine-infested cell, he was told by police that he was likely to be going to court and to prison.

If he came home in a mood, he’d often take it out on those who were at home, it was just the normality of the situation. To calculate the overall star rating and percentage breakdown by star, we don’t use a simple average. An efficient and organised person is required to assist the Secretary of the Diocesan Advisory Committee for the Care of Churches in providing advice to the diocese and parishes on church buildings and their contents and to administer the inspection scheme for churches within the Diocese of Chester. By the end of the Alpha course, God was such doing such a work in my life that I just had to confess to the vicar. By the time I was 20, I was so passionate about this lifestyle that I didn’t give a damn about other people. He started to attend Holy Trinity Brompton, and successfully interviewed for a job at HTB’s homeless shelter, where he realized how quickly lives and fortunes can be turned around (for the worse).
