About this deal

Expanding on the timeless elegant form and silent modular function, that brought so much success to its predecessors, the Define R6 offers the demanding hardware enthusiast a solid foundation and flexible framework with limitless potential. The PSU sucks up air from the bottom of the case, which means not enough air - similar to problem A; and it sucks up dust. The front panel + filter perhaps changes airflow for the intake somewhat, and anything above 850RPM produces whines, plus the usual humming at high RPM for most fans.

However, when I passed that case down to my youngest son, I didn't go with any fans mounted in the bottom since the Be Quiet case allowed me to have 3 X 140mm front intake fans. Removing the top panel of the case is revolutionary, as you have a button at the back of the case that 'ejects' it.This stands out as the one obvious update that hasn’t been made to the case, but never fear: Fractal announced the Connect D1 front I/O kit alongside the R6. The one downside to the top filter not being a cheap square of mesh is that it is essentially the top of the case and must always be installed, or else there’s just a big ugly hole left behind. I had a few extra 140s and 120s lying around and purchased a few extra to give myself a total of 5 x 140mm + 4 x 120mm fans. Here you'll note that the HDD/SSD bracket I selected not only does NOT block the placement of the SSDs in this location; it also would not block the use of full-height cards such as NICs or HBAs in any of the PCIe slots on this motherboard. Load testing is conducted using Prime95 LFFTs and Kombustor “FurMark” stress testing simultaneously.

Designed from the ground up, the Define R6 goes beyond iteration with a profound stride of innovation – the latest and largest step in the legacy of the world-renowned Define Series. This becomes a question of marketing: When the product, like the Bitfenix Enso or the H500P, claims to offer high airflow and low temperatures, it needs to actually do so. We’ve praised Fractal in the past for high build quality and logical layouts, and the R6 continues that trend. Designed from the ground up, the Define R6 goes beyond iteration with a profound stride of innovation the latest and largest step in the legacy of the world-renowned Define Series. It’s been a while since we’ve reviewed a Fractal case, but boy has it been worth the wait, as up for review today we have the brand new Define R6.

Didn't give me too much bad surprise, the PSU shroud and bottom mount issue, I already knew them before getting the case. However no change in temps, which is just as well since not too inclined to open the top, even less top intake. Room for up to a 420 mm radiator in the top, 360 mm in the front, and 280 mm in the base – making it the perfect platform for building your dream water loop. Do note that the 2 of the SSDs mount on the bottom of the main chamber between the PSU and motherboard chamber. We ship all products in unopened boxes directly as received from our manufacturer in brand new and in perfect condition. I keep spare copies of both of Baret's pools off-site and rotate them with Baret on a regular basis.
