Years ago, I gave up trying to argue the merits of the film with those who find it tedious or plodding.

Or at least they are once you get past the black screen that represents the first three minutes of the film!I agree it would be nice to eventually see them branch out a little and invite other artists to take part though. Moving on from the movie, The Film Vault also excel with these releases because of the refreshingly beautiful extras you get as part of the package.

The structure of this film is that when the monolith on the African plain is placed with the apes, its physical symbol of the first logical thought by the apes, these being the size ratios of the squares of the first three integers, 1;2;3, (1:4:9). So don’t expect trouser-flapping bass or carefully placed effects to start zinging around your living room. Both are certainly more than serviceable, and the original mix doesn’t ‘age’ the film unnecessarily. Stanley Kubrick redefined the limits of filmmaking in his classic science fiction masterpiece, a contemplation on the nature of humanity, 2001: A Space Odyssey.

But the most impressive aspects are the sunset/sunrise scenes at the beginning and the trippy vortex of colored lights towards the end, showering the screen with a resplendent, kaleidoscopic array of fuchsia pinks, fiery oranges, luminous magentas and eye-popping emerald greens, making this the very best the film has ever looked on any home video format and the definitive way to enjoy this classic. He's co-founder of Vice Press along with James Henshaw, so obviously cheaper for Matt to do the art himself than pay someone else to do it. However, mistakes do occur from time to time and although we take care to prevent any damage to your goods during transit it is possible that problems may arise. As a programmer there are still days when I walk into work and switch on my machine and mutter "Good morning Hal - Good morning Dave". I guess this is the age when such discoveries make the most significant shifts in the foundations of one's outlook?

Watching a film can be a complicated experience and watching a film like this - as old as this - can be a very complicated experience. Whether aboard the massive space station or the Discovery One spacecraft, the hallways shine a brilliant, immaculate white, while clouds illuminate the skies with splendor, and the stars twinkle against the darkness of space with vivid radiance. I'm guessing that the more disappointed reviews are coming from people who grew up with Star Trek, and Son of Star Trek, and are just wondering where the plot and explosions got lost.

Physical Only]-Kubrick’s early work as a photographer chronicling 1940’s America for LOOK Magazine reflected his natural talent for visual storytelling.This, brilliantly, is a 25-minute documentary filmed way back in 1967, talking about the future of space exploration against a context of Stanley Kubrick’s (then upcoming) film. As soon as Richard Strauss' Also sprach Zarathustra blares across the entire screen and into the surrounds, viewers are immediately immersed in a sense of otherworldliness. Action fans won't find any gunfights or explosions here; instead, this is a deliberately paced adventure of the mind that requires patience, thought, and introspection. This edited together track (sadly both actors are not in the room together) first appeared in 2007, so it’s a shame that there isn’t also a new track to celebrate the film’s 50th birthday from any of the luminaries involved in its remastering, or some film critics/experts.
