It literally smells like nothing, I sprayed generously and all I get is something very faint, very slight reminiscent of Chanel no 5, classic Dove shower gel and basic musk, but the scent is barely there - and now, I really sprayed generously! I have a mini bottle of alyssa Ashley perfume oil, for me the best, i had years ago the EDT but that one gives me a rash, it must be the alcohol or something? I remember using Alyssa Ashley Musk when it was under the Houbigant label and it was a gloopy oil (it ruined the collar of my Coney Fur jacket! Contrary to what some believe "real" musk hasn't been used in most mainstream fragrance for almost 100 years!

Charmingly tarty, you can imagine the character Rose from 'Keeping Up Appearances' or the character Doreen from 'Birds of a Feather' wearing this. I remember seeing this for sale when I was a teenager, but I never sampled it and none of my friends wore it. I bought this perfume because I was looking for some perfum that smelled like my ever favorite Jovan Musk , but Musk by Alissa Ashley unisex did not go with my chemistry . Musk fascinates for its simple but cryptic nature: it looks like a simple, almost childlike perfume, but its evolution reveals an emotional and sentimental character. Coty's Wild Musk works much better with my chemistry, so if you are having a similar reaction that I did -- you may want to try both and see which works best for you. To my nose, this has nothing to do with Chanel 5, which is a very woody aldehydic concoction, of which I cannot detect the muskiness at all.Nitro-musks were once used extensively in perfumery and are now largely prohibited in many countries because they can't be fully cleaned out by sewage treatment plants and accumulate in fish and such.
