Constant guilt can be so deeply entrenched in the way you see yourself, and in a difficult childhood, that it’s extremely hard to untangle things alone. I’ve always been a guilty person, blaming myself for everything that happens, and I always feel like a burden on others. I just really can't say much cause I don't wanna spoil the story, but I thirly injoyed the author's writing stile and definitely will be reading more of her works. One moment I had it all - a gorgeous husband, a beautiful home, a fulfilling career and two adorable children. He brings it up sometimes when he’s upset and then I end up thinking about it and feeling guilty, or he might think I like a guy when I don’t and if it’s mentioned enough I’ll persuade myself that I do!

I think it would be better to read this book rather than listen to it as the narrating is irritating. Who in their right mind makes a child with another man and keeps the baby knowing it looks completely different and not admitting it to the husband. As the trial looms she slowly starts to regain her memory and realises that somebody close to her has done this to her - but why and how? This morning it had come and gone in a flash, and I’d put it down to being in that odd, semi-awake state but now, as I leaned against the kitchen counter, it stayed, first that shiver up my back, then a sense that something was trying to wriggle its way into my consciousness, a voice far, far too tiny for me to hear trying to make itself audible.
