About this deal

She does deal with unruly people at the bar she owns, so she should be able to handle the Vipers when they come to collect her. I wish that Roxy would have fought them more in the beginning like playing cat and mouse, I feel like she gave in too easy. There is nothing terribly surprising here, apart from how terrible this book is to endure for 600 pages. Out of all of the dark/taboo romances you could recommend, THIS is the one y’all are talking about 😭?

She isn’t afraid and she likes pain so she is able to stand up to the four hot as sin, tattooed tough guys that take her.

Halfway through the book, which is as far as I could force myself to get, it is essentially 95% ridiculous sex scenes, and 5% pointless "story. There was a lot of spice with this book and a few scenes that will likely shock you based on the content.

I can tolerate a book with some pretty gruesome content as long as it fits within the parameters of the story and isn't just done for shock value.

The grimy- but the baseline in many of those books is that the bad guy isn't REALLY bad, he just fell into the family business/wrong crowd and has a complex of not showing his sweet side due to the trauma of working as he is/needing to be tough to maintain his image to his clan/gang/whatever. Speaking of characters, if you are not sold on the book yet then let me introduce you to the Vipers. The audiobook was told in multiple points of view via dual narration and was narrated by Hollie Jackson and Cornell Collins. I literally binge read this I was that invested, one of my stand out reads this year and just maybe one of my favourite reverse-harem reads ever. This bitch really got confessions and proposals out of nowhere in the same time frame as God allegedly created heaven and earth.

I felt all this deep in my soul and believed in the portrayed dynamic of all the characters involved. I was looking through reviews and it had me scratching my head at the comments some people were leaving. Listen, I think the last quote really speaks for the cheesiness and quality of writing, but I will just end on this. He wasn’t hiding his bloodlust and need for pain and destruction, and once Roxy had his attention, he vowed to protect her (but not from himself). His extremely affectionate and bold personality with his little bird when he wasn't getting down and freaky helped to offset his more extreme sexual proclivities helping to Showcase a much more human side to him, at least with his little bird.Cringe AF and I regret every minute of it I wish I could go back three days to when I didn't know this book existed.
