About this deal

Arrow of Love’ is a cheesy electronica party anthem stating “I’m gonna give my heart to everyone around, I’m gonna share my love with everyone”, jumping from heavy metalcore riffs to a high tuned staccatoed synth section. The next track is ‘ Fuckboi‘ and this single saw the boys venture into pop punk territory alongside US metal act Conquer Divide, once again showcasing the diverse range of genres this album tackles and the end result of this one alone has been nothing short of amazing. At the end of the day, they’re most defined as a loud, bawdy, horny crew, and lean into all of that accordingly. Their award-winning outrageousness is what got them sky-high on the charts and consistently selling out shows all over the world. Writing for Sputnikmusic, Trey noted improvements this album made in comparison to the band's previous work stating, "Each album since Crystals had been increasingly bland and uninspired, while at the same time neutering the heavier elements of their past; Tekkno fixes all of that.

The sampling of course isn’t done in halves as warning alarms and ray guns can be subtly heard intertwined around thundering beats and riffs. Right now, I can imagine them flipping me off with a tiny hand on each finger (linked below, so you will know what the hell I am talking about), and I am so glad they didn’t take my advice.

Their sound is categorized as electronicore, which – as you may know – is the rebellious love child of electronica and metalcore. Mindreader‘ is our first taste of unreleased material and it opens with a huge atmospheric trance/synth intro that guides us up to a heavy scream section and we’re underway. Clearly Nico has had a very positive influence on the band and I can see them going from strength to strength in years to come.

Though this isn’t an easy listen, Body Void’s newest journey into the abyss yields a shrieking, industrial mutation of doom-metal that couldn’t fit into the blackness around them more perfectly. At times, it takes you right back to the anthemic pop days of the late 2000s/early 2010s, and at other times it pulls you into the modern day with its djent-splattered metalcore. In April 2013 the band toured the United States for the first time alongside Kottonmouth Kings and Deuce. When all is said and done, as the last few notes of the outro ‘Neon’ fade out, what you get is an album that would be good to play at both a nightclub at 2am, as well as in a field in Derbyshire at a certain metal festival.Mindreader’ reverts back to the age-old format of screamed verses and melodic choruses, but the choruses don’t meet the same powerful climax needed to match the heaviness of what they follow. None of this should work, but it just does, I have not been excited about an album for a long time as this one. In my opinion, this would have been a welcome change, seeing as new and upcoming rock and metal bands such as Italy’s Måneskin and Finland’s Blind Channel performed at the 2021 contest to critical acclaim.

Hardstyle beats (“Parasite”) also join the heavy and driving metal sound on “Tekkno,” adding a rhythmic component to the guitar riffs with electronic inserts that further polish their sound. The last section of the track is full to the brim with blast beats and rapid double kicks, as well as growls, screeches, and even a pig squeal thrown in for good measure. Upon translating the lyrics into English, however, ‘romantic’ is definitely not the right word (“When I see all the pictures, then I only think of you/How you sat on me, my god, that was disgusting”. But onto "Tekkno" and this is a really fun, outlandish, rollercoaster of an album that really has set them apart from anything that is out there at the moment.

A certain edge that wasn’t there before has now become the raving pink elephant in the room, packed with never-ending energy and breaking every boundary. It’s honestly like the band took elements of as many genres as possible, chucked them in a blender and the end result is an earworm belter that you cannot help but sing along to with every spin. But let’s not just focus on EC in this synth-metal-pop jam, yes it’s their album, but Conquer Divide offer so much to the mix that literally couldn’t be done without them. In the midst of all this international/interplanetary genre exploration, there are two tracks that go back to their older electronic metalcore sound.Non-personalized content and ads are influenced by things like the content you’re currently viewing and your location (ad serving is based on general location). This is only seen a handful of times in ‘Spaceman’ and ‘Hurikkan’ during their most camp pop moments. It’s a rarity, definitely, and one which it’s not even clear if they’ll be able to pull off again given their past record, but the results speak for themselves, at the end of the day.
