About this deal

I originally bought a Joie Anchor Advance for my son-in-laws car (for my granddaughter) but bought this for my car (for when I look after her ☺️) as I don't have isofix but when my granddaughter was diagnosed with hip displasia and fitted with a harness she couldn't fit in the Anchor Advance so this was installed and it was perfect!

I wish I could tell you this is an easy install, but for me, there’s no such thing when it comes to car seats. The only minor downside was that the way it’s designed means the seatbelt is higher than than the side so you have to lift baby in and out over the seatbelt. But I needn’t have worried – straight out of the box the installation was a breeze (the Milestone has no ISOFIX but is a Universal fit, which means the chair has to be installed in the car with an adult seat belt.

Before moving to a to forward-facing 5-point harness seat for babies who weigh between 9kg and 18kg ( Group 1). As recommended in many European countries it’s safest to be rear facing until 4 years old, although in the UK it’s law only until 13kg (for seats with weight limits). She has recently swapped from the five point harness to using it as a booster seat now which was so easy to do. The Graco Milestone is an all in one car seat and one that they describe as the only one you'll ever need.

Rear facing, the harness straps must be at or just below the shoulders and top of head must be at least 1″ below the red headrest/harness adjustment handle.

The is a belt lock which grips the car seatbelt which I think is a great idea and not something I have seen on other seats. My little one is only 10kgs but 22-months-old and she preferred to be forward facing so she could see what was going on more clearly, although the car seat is higher than most others so babies should still be able to see out of the window. Latch connectors and latch anchors are the standard attachment points for child safety seats in the US, not the UK. Before we take a look at all the bells and whistles, it’s important to note that this post is merely a review of the car seat and not an instruction manual. It's black and cream in colour, it's durable and adjustable based on your little one's height/weight.

The soft parts, like covers on the UK version are attached with poppers and not Velcro, like the US ones. Such an amazing car seat, brought for my daughter at 4 months as she had out grown her other ones, they only down side was as she was still quite little she couldn't sit upright so had to be in the leaning position (1) which toke up a lot of room and the passenger seat was pushed quite forward, didn't effect me much as I sat in the back with her , just meant the skinniest person has to squeeze into the passenger seat. I started writing a blog back in 2013 as a way to capture my thoughts, feelings and emotions as I married my childhood sweetheart and we had our first child. The instructions tell you all you need to know, they are basic and straightforward - simply choose which age child the seat will be used for and adjust accordingly. It is very easy to get in and out of the car, although at 19lbs, it is not the lightest car seat around.I love the fact there are four different recline positions – two in rear facing mode and two in forward facing mode. Without the cushion pad though, there is a danger that you may pinch your child’s skin when using the buckle. It’s not a light thing to move, but once it is fitted you really won’t lift it out very often (and really, who wants a lightweight car seat when it’s sole task is the protection of your child? I tend to avoid letting the children have drinks in the car as they inevitably spill them, but it is a really good feature and especially great for long journeys as they will be able to keep a drink close by instead of me having to pass them one. The child is always in the harness when rear facing and the buckle appears to be easy to get into the base.
