About this deal

As someone finding unable to have children now through sudden medical reasons before being able to try, I found it comforting/interesting to hear her views.

Nobody batted an eyelid; there was too much paperwork to get through and too many questions to be answered concerning Billie’s wellbeing. I had to change her nappy in the middle of it and I felt like all eyes were on me as I picked up the changing bag and we headed to the loos.Highly recommend to anyone experiencing fertility problems, baby loss, grief or people who plan to adopt a child. But, in the months and years that followed, she discovered that there was more than one way to build a family – and that there is a lot of joy to be found in life’s unexpected detours. If anyone reading this is struggling to have children please pick up this book it will give you courage and their is help available out their.

When Lisa Faulkner learned that she wouldn't have biological children, her plans and expectations for her life were derailed. I think the grief was so acute because the minute the test is positive, you map out your whole life with that child.

In a raw and inspiring story of one woman’s journey through motherhood, family life and self-discovery, Lisa explores the many forms that family can take, and discovers the power of embracing your Plan B. An easy listen and a rough guide/story to how some women might go through the process of making the decision to adopt. Having experienced infertility before going on to have my own children, I felt a strong bond with Lisa and hope that others will be able to take comfort from her story. I found myself drawn to it all given that I can relate to the very early stages of Lisa’s desire to want a baby.

I don’t know how Billie’s life is going to turn out, but I will do everything I can to help her be the happiest she can be. For anyone who has ever found themselves facing the unexpected in life – whether that’s infertility, adoption, grief or any other personal challenge – this is an uplifting and honest account of finding love in unexpected places, and building your life on your own terms.I knew these small things were like a lighthouse to her in a stormy sea, making her feel as safe as she could and guiding her home. In hospital, we found out it was an ectopic pregnancy; it was in a fallopian tube, rather than the womb.
