About this deal

My favorites are the Wayne Goss Brush 14 (also in The Face Set), Laura Mercier Fan Brush, MAC 137S or Chanel Foundation Blending Brush (it’s essentially like the MAC skunk brush but fluffier/less dense). The Becca shimmering skin perfector pressed, was the first item on my hitlist when I went to Florida last month.

Each time I twist this little baby, I can hear the angles in heaven singing a song of praise for it’s complete and utter beauty. Becca describes it as “soft gold with pinky-peach pearl” and claim that it’s flattering on all skin tones. And Gabby, unfortunately I can't see them in person as I live in New Zealand and we don't have a Sephora here, so I have been trying to decide through swatches and reviews online.

I still find the texture of the formula to seem a bit drier compared to the one years ago (like in 2013), though the actual color, application, and effect on my skin looks the same.I gravitate toward a smooth and seamless powder like the Essence Pure Nude Highlighter or the highlighter in theBalm’s Will Powder Palette. The Shimmering Skin Perfector Pressed Highlighter is an ultra soft powder that comes in a number of colors. You can find the Becca Shimmering Skin Perfector Pressed Highlighters at Sephora, Ulta Beauty, Nordstrom and Becca Cosmetics. Shimmering Skin Perfector™ Liquid Highlighter is a dewy, hydrating liquid highlighter that is infused with ultrafine, light-reflecting pearls to help create a fresh, healthy glow, now available in a convenient travel-size.

If you like the shimmer and sheen of the Becca Highlighters but want more color (versus shimmer) their Shimmering Skin Perfector Blushes are some of the most glowy pigmented blushes I’ve ever tried. The one downside of this product for me is the same con that applies to Moonstone – there are tiny shimmering particles in this powder. Don’t get me wrong – the Becca highlight is amazing and so finely milled and pigmented, but because of this I feel it would break so easily and you would hit pan so quickly.

This is a creamy, soft and smooth highlighter that is very finely milled and with the right brush it applies to the skin like a dream. The highlighter is not the most firmly pressed so there can be some fallout and I usually tap the brush off before applying. For this look, I used a matte bronzer lightly to give some definition to my face and then added Own You Light highlighter on the cheek- the apples and the highpoints. Quick Tip: Use a fan brush like this one to lightly brush the highlighter for a healthy glow, or use this cheek hugging highlight brush for a dramatic result. Features Bronzed Amber, Moonstone, Opal, Rose Gold and Topaz Shimmering Skin Perfector Pressed Highlighter.

There is a wide range of shades but if you’re medium skin toned like me some of the lighter options may look really similar on you. In terms of application the highlight can be pretty intense but the formula is soft and easy to layer and blend. They also don’t have third parties test on their behalf and they don’t sell their products in countries where animal testing is required by law.I also swatches Subsolar from Sleek Solstice palette just to give you an idea how this one is the most intense and has the brightest shine of these all. The following are shades that I don’t own so I’m providing descriptions based on the information and swatches on Becca’s site. If you want something more natural looking with less shimmer I’d recommend you try the NARS Highlighting Powders or Tom Ford Sheer Cheek Duos. I didn’t love the way this looked on me, I found the color a little intense and not super flattering but it would probably work better on deeper skin tones.
