About this deal

I'm so glad I decided to read this, it goes into details about the life and lessons learned along the way in a very humorous and easy-to-read way. You're That Bitch' welcomes you into Bretman Rock's world—from how his childhood in the Philippines, his family, Filipino culture, and being a first-generation immigrant helped shape him into who he is today. It was so lovely to read about Bretman’s experience with gender identity and I am definitely going to re-read and highlight the passages that resonated with me. Plus, Asian Americans and Asian immigrants are increasingly facing hate and violence, so I’m passionate about helping create more positive visibility for us— especially for brown Asians—I n entertainment, beauty and fashion.

I think everyone’s experience in life is unique–but I wrote so much about myself in the book, and I hope there is at least one chapter you can relate to, whether it’s being an immigrant, learning a new language, meeting someone in Disneyland, going to a different country, having divorced parents, and whatnot," he added.

Overall, I found it really interesting and I will for sure read it again in the future if I somehow lose inspiration or find myself at a low point. Thinking about all these accomplishments could make me cry— I won’t, though, because crying just makes me look so damn ugly. The writing style is engaging and conversational, making it easy to connect with the author's words.

With a combined following of over 45 million globally, you may recognize Bretman from his reality series, MTV’s Following: Bretman Rock or his YouTube Originals limited series, 30 Days With: Bretman Rock. You're That B*tch welcomes you into Bretman Rock's world—from how his childhood in the Philippines, his family, Filipino culture, and being a first-generation immigrant helped shape him into who he is today. His writing style is the same as if he were talking - as if he was in the room telling me these stories. The author's ability to convey complex ideas in a concise and accessible manner is commendable, making this book suitable for readers at any stage of their journey.

Who is Bretman Rock Sacayanan behind the screen and how did he become the original superstar influencer and today’s beloved best friend of the internet? The imprint also publishes the bestselling historical fiction of Bernard Cornwell, exciting work from Lauren Beukes and Rosie Thomas, and thriller successes Sam Bourne and Simon Toyne. Hilarious and earnest, this collection of essays, how-tos and never-before-seen photos goes far beyond what we know of Bretman Rock from social media. Everything he described from the province he grew up in, what his family and home was like, to all the food was a treat to read about because it speaks to his genuine love for his culture (Pinakbet will forever be one of my favourite dishes). I'm tired of memoirs that get very "preachy" and/or "I used to be like XYZ but now I'm like XYZ look at me go I'm the best now the end.
