I agree, I generally find that quality annoying too however I recognize that it’s a very common one even in the real world so I generally try to be accepting of it. God forbid we get a female character that doesn't act like her only value in existence is to look pretty and have someone love her. And when you're facing the dreaded singles table at a wedding and no hope of getting a date the real way, you find yourself scouring the inter webs for a fake one. This girl wanted to go to a wedding, she didn't want to sit at the single's table so she hired a male companion online.

Theo was incredibly sexy and charismatic during the first 25% of the story but as he started to become a serious flake and kept putting Claire through so much unnecessary heartache, I started to lose my love for his character. What was supposed to be one night of pretending to love one another, turns into a night a passion that neither could forget. She has steadily climbed to the top tier of my favorite authors as Melanie Harlow’s words are my wine: fine and flawless, potent and powerful, and savored to the very last drop. Listen, I love my fair share of taboo romances and HUGE age gaps romances but I don't need to be inside this guy's head while he is clearly attracted to her because she looks and acts like a child. When our leading couple first met it to set up a one evening gig - he was to be her 'partner' at a wedding to save face after she kinda made up a boyfriend when put on the spot.Have lots of kleenex handy as crying is a strong possibility , something to drink, and curl up in, and begin a wonderful adventure! Theo happens to be Claire's rented hottie and from the moment he sets his eyes on Claire, he's completely smitten. This might be an extremely personal choice but I am sick and tired of female main characters having to be infantilized so they can be seen as cute. Meanwhile, Theo is afraid of any kind of commitment because he also doubts his abilities and doesn’t want to disappoint people.

Where Clair lacks adventure and faith in the unknown and jumping with out looking Theo has that all down pat. The beauty bathed in heat in these words that melted me to molten lava, my feels flowing all over the pages. Claire is an immensely endearing and compassionate heroine who wants nothing more than love in her life.

Claire, the ever so patient and too trusting, realises what Theo is struggling with and is very forgiving. Maybe it’s the cocky yet sometimes brooding personality, his past he’s trying to get over, his selflessness when it comes to his sister-in-law and his three adorable nieces, his handyman skills, or his hot as sin everything, but I what I’m sure of is I love him. I don't care that he went to prison, I care that I am reading a book about a 29 year old lying her ass off over something absurdly shallow like she's the main character in parent trap. Behind his charming, smooth-talking, sexy exterior, Theo was hiding years of pain and damage so deep that it had left emotional scars on his soul.Give her a colorful wardrobe, a love for dinosaurs, a river rock collection, give her a personality next time, maybe that's what they're missing. Theo has a past, one that's really held him back all his life and his decisions that he's making aren't better.
