The doll will not be available for sale, but later this year, Mattel plan to release a Barbie inspired by Apfel’s style, which is promised to feature her signature spectacles and accessories from her own Rara Avis collection. Iris also runs a hugely popular Instagram account, and in 2016 appeared in a television advert for French car DS 3. Iris’ signature oversized black glasses (of course) complete the look inspired by the designer's Rara Avis collection.
