About this deal

It can be a little tedious at times, as Monroe meticulously applies the scientific method to his every experiment.

Simply put, I am just a 50 year old man with a wife and son, and haven't been interested in anything having to do with the supernatural to any strong degree ever in my life, except for the time that I involved myself deeply with this book. While this had some interesting anecdotal experiments conducted from the late 50's onward, it's all fairly passe now. We can formally define an OOBE as an event in which the experiencer (1) seems to perceive some portion of some environment which could not possibly be perceived from where his physical body is known to be at the time; and (2) knows at the time that he is not dreaming or fantasizing. Just finished reading it for a third time, wanted to re-familiarize myself as I am finally going to get around to reading the other two in the series now. Further, he tells us that not only was this “dream” “intensely vivid, but that he knew at the time that it was not a dream, that he was really in the air over New York City.If he is insistent about the reality of his experience, especially if he has other strange experiences too, we may with the best of intentions see about committing him to a mental hospital. One thing that has stumped me since finishing the book which hopefully will be answered in the second two in the series is, why did this not catch and take off as Monroe laid out a very definitive course of study?

Another aspect was that his experience out of the body appeared to be divided between 3 separate realms or, as he terms them, "locales. Rather, Monroe, an American businessman who had had a successful career in radio, discovered in the late 1950s that he could exit his physical body, and decided to develop his own experimental program to learn about this strange state.Menciona que era similar al Escenario I, es decir, al mundo al que estamos acostumbrados, salvo por una serie de diferencias, por ejemplo en la modernización. They asked me questions that I don't remember but I still remember the looks on their faces like they couldn't believe the door was unlocked, as if they had never seen it happen before. Robert Monroe's book is often referred to by other authors who share their out of body experiences and methods. In the book he lifts the veil on one of the tantalizing abilities of the human mind, namely to exist outside of the human.

If you are truly interested in OOBE this is the book for you, from the detailed encounters to instructions on how to initiate this experience for yourself. Thus the author contradicts himself, since what he describes does sound like it could be God, God’s realm, Heaven. In general, it helps to have something to believe in and the thought that life is not over and the fact that there's more but we don't see is its amazing. To calculate the overall star rating and percentage breakdown by star, we don’t use a simple average. He (obviously) has very good points about the way that world is structured, the power of thoughts and emotions there, the nature of interactions of the beings there. This isn't so much a review as it is an anecdotal story about actual incident involving my reading of this book.

This consciously left his sleeping self at night and explored not only what we term our third dimensional world, but also spiritual, non physical realities which defied rational explanation.Robert Allan Monroe has had wide career experience in communications, having written for newspapers and magazines, and worked in television and electronics. I liked that he described the phenomena as objectively as he could despite the very subjective nature of the experience. There are some important exceptions to this general put-down of dreams, but for the vast majority of people in our society today, dreams are not things that serious people concern themselves with. After several tries, he managed to come up with some techniques and made the event more "controllable". Thus regardless of what position one wants to take on the “reality” of the OOBE, it is clearly an experience deserving considerable psychological study.
