Netgem TV’s box and service have already been widely adopted by a growing number of UK ISPs, particularly smaller alternative networks that lack the funding to develop their own bespoke platforms. Netgem also acts as a central hub for subscription services like Prime Video and BT Sport, though these must be paid for separately. It’s just adding your login details to all those players (ITV Hub, BBC iPlayer, All4, Prime and so on) which is a slight pain when you first get everything set up. Whilst the Netgem will control the TV functions, it cannot be guaranteed to work with every model of TV out there, but will be compatible with most. When we tried out its predecessor, the Netbox HD, we were impressed with the amount of services (including live TV) we could access through one system, but found the user interface to be too laggy to recommend.
