The Charge 4 is water resistant to 164 feet; I wore it in the shower several times without incident. The Fitbit Charge 4 is an excellent fitness tracker that packs all the features you need to track and improve your performance over time. The device is water resistant to a depth of 50 meters, making it suitable for swimming, showering and sweating, but Fitbit advises taking a moment to dry the band afterwards. There were a few areas in a more remote part of town that the GPS would veer off to the side of the road a bit (or show me running down the side of a river), but nothing that would lead me to believe my GPS stats would be too inaccurate.

There’s a good variety of options to choose from, including bootcamp, kickboxing, martial arts, Pilates, spinning, tennis, and more. The Fitbit Charge 4 is a real evolution from its predecessor, and GPS is an excellent addition that helps bridge the gap between fitness bands and fully-fledged sports watches. The Charge 4’s touchscreen was easy to read in all but bright sunlight, and responded quickly to swipes, except when my finger was sweaty; then, it didn’t work at all. The Fitbit Charge 4 also has a pulse oximeter onboard, which sits right next to the heart rate sensor. Seeing how the Charge 4 lacks app compatibility compared to other wearables (that small OLED screen won’t be for everybody), you might also want to consider a smartwatch made for fitness.We're expecting the cost of the Fitbit Charge 4 to drop over the next couple of months as its successor, the Fitbit Charge 5, has now been released, with an ECG and EDA sensor, as well as a color AMOLED touchscreen. Both Charge devices will use a similar-size wristband, so Charge 3 owners who want to upgrade but like their old band will be able to easily swap them. If you would like your activity tracker to look more like a classic watch then the Fitbit Charge 4 metal straps are the ones you are looking for. There are six preinstalled Exercise Shortcuts on the Charge 4, including run, bike, swim, walk, treadmill, and outdoor workout, but if those aren’t your favorite activities, you can easily customize the list.
