If they were boarded and their cargo seized, not only would they be killed but their entire families would be wiped out.This felt more like a plodding series of events instead of the rip roaring, fast paced adventures of the Oregon Crew. It gave the impression that the author wasn't familiar with the previous books in this series. Calvera's eyes narrowed, focused on a bead of sweat glistening on his first officer's forehead. You can tell that the author is either a fan of the series or did a lot of homework. I never get tired of following these guys and gals on their adventures.A series of twists keeps the book racing ahead. He kept his assault team small to minimize casualties but they all punched above their weight. No matter what came at them, his people would handle it. Mike Maden takes over writing the Oregon Files in this 16th installment of the long running series and succeeds wonderfully with probably the most bonkers Cusslerverse book in a long-while. Cussler books can often fill like you've read the same one multiple times and they work best when you feel that they've landed on something novel. Mike Maden has done this with Hellburner.
